So a lot of us like to travel out off the beaten path where any aid might be an hour away at the best of times.

What do you guys carry for first aid supplies?

I just picked up one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CQ8JVC7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

To which I added an Israeli, a SWAT-T, a CAT, and some celox. I mainly wanted these because I cut firewood solo and I'd ideally like to not bleed to death.
I have a small first aid kit in my glove box and a larger one with medication (aspirin, Tylenol, etc) in one of my camping boxes. I want to get a full medic style kit in a red backpack one of these days but a fire extinguisher seems to be my rescue tool of choice

Ya know, I’ve heard to keep maxi pads in a first aid kit before and then I read a big argument against using them for cuts/lacerations. The gist of it is that feminine hygiene products are designed to pull liquid away from the area to keep it dry. Clots form when blood pools on the wound so to wick it away from the wound is counterproductive

Used them in the war and they worked great to plug the wounds during transport, not a long term solution.

I've had a couple wilderness first aid kits. Actually used the splint in one when I dislocated my elbow in death valley. If it's a major injury where we need to get to the hospital I've got enough stuff to keep someone from bleeding out, or comfortable (in case or a break), until a helicopter arrives. My inreach with SOS button is my biggest piece of first aid for major injuries and my son knows how to use it in case I'm incapacitated.

Two of these. I’m pretty sure I paid much less than $125
One always in the truck
Second one is deconstructed and always in the kayak in a vacuum sealed bag.
Israeli trauma bandage, Quik clot and a fresh EpiPen added into the bags.

Smaller field trauma pack inside the main bag, I usually pull and throw it in my backpack when hiking.

I've come across two separate rollovers in the middle of know where that had just happened moments before I just by chance happen to drive by. Luckily for everyone there were no major injuries to all involved, only minor cuts, scraps and bruising. But, it's just a matter of time that one of us here will happen to come across a seriously injured person(s) for whatever reason while on the trail.

Us local guys should consider this first aid class if you don't have any prior basic first aid training. Facilities are located in Pasadena, Camarillo and Goleta.

I got first aid and CPR certified through work a couple years ago. Wish I could find my card to see when it expires.

I'm also street first aid certified. Haha. I've bandaged and taken care of so many situations to keep myself out of the doctors office. I've needed stitches more than once, but keep it clean and bandaged and 9/10 times you'll heal.

CPR cards typically last for 2 years. American heart association is the only one that’s really worth it’s salt

Good for 2 years usually for first aid and CPR
