No, it seemed the same. I guess it's a good thing.
Yeah, my 6 plus year old truck has been pretty solid with no discernible shifting issues since brand new.

Have you changed any other fluids besides engine and transmission?

Spark plugs?

Disc or drum brake pads?

So brother Bastek, notice any difference with the transmission after the fluid change?

I am at 70k and am planning on doing this over the summer so thanks for the thread.
No, it seemed the same. I guess it's a good thing.
I actually repeated the procedure and replaced approx 6/7 qts of fluid. Figured only 3 qts would be too diluted.
You know, for it to be twice as good....
Only thing is, there is a special procedure to do such thing, which I found out after I already did my change.

So (according to what I found out) after filling initial 3qts run the engine for 30 seconds, and shut it down again. That is supposed to be enough time to move fresh fluid, so then we can drain old fluid out of the pan again.

I wanted to do do it again after last summer (after my towing season) together with installing new bigger transmission cooler. Didn't have a chance/time/will to take care of it, but definitely have to before summer.

Yes. Did all bunch of maintenance.
Replaced rear diff fluid twice, front diff and transfer case once. Used 3rd gen specific hella expensive fluids. (of which, after regear, ECGS recommends 85w-140 gear oil in diffs just as in 2nd gens, way cheaper!)

Did rear brakes once and front twice. Rear all oem, but in front I used stop tech rotors and TRD pads (2nd gen). Daily driving a mall crawler with bigger heavier tires is definitely taking its toll.

Also replaced the plugs last year. And again can't really remember feeling much of the difference in how the engine run, or it's performance.

I will be changing the transmission fluid this summer- I just ordered a transmission fluid test kit from blackstone since I have done this a few times with engine oil.

I changed my disc pads and rotors at 60k, and the rear shoes were looking a little uneven, ordered OEM shoes and drums to have on hand because I will be rotating the tires next weekend.

New plugs in the next month or two.

Also have OEM diff and transfer fluids on hand for sometime in the next few months.

I have been ordering all the OEM parts from a Toyota dealership in Atlanta, decent prices, occasional 10% off sales and free shipping on orders over $75 (easy to do)

And FluidFilm twice a year since new course…lol

That's the thing I never got into...
I bought my 2016 right after they came out, way before the Toyota 3rd Gen frame inspection and rust proofing campaign started- I bought a gallon of fluid film and the spray kit right away, lol.

I plan on keeping this truck for a long time.
