Crack was actually pretty lax. Early part of PSM was a traffic jam, especially with a late start.

The 1st gen Taco broke a CV in the crack with no spares and open/open. Keeps disappeared shortly after that after talking about an easy exit route for a while.

Had to winch all of us up the Waterfall on Gold Bar Rim. Plus winching/spotting/rock stacking on numerous ledges to get out.

Serious? You guys had that hard of a time on the trail? I ran it last year single locked and didn't have any rock stacking or winching. We only had to winch my brothers 4 runner up the waterfall. he was also only on 32's and didn't have to rock stack for him all day either.

Waterfall especially was well after dark and plenty frustrated. My 4Runner also only has stock 33 year old low beams (high turns them off).

1st gen was Manual 4 cyl open open reg cab short bed. So 2wd(1 Wheel Peel) after breaking the CV.

Not sure how much the recent rainfall and sand getting tracked around also affected us.

Here is a teaser of what you guys are looking forward to. The rest of this trail has bypasses for bypasses but this one and the following waterfall will challenge you.

I still shitting myself after making it over.

That is so different now. There is a giant rock that limits the line on that. You still hug the left line but if you shift right on the climb and don't make it, you stand to pin yourself between it and the waterfall.

Elvis was much different 5 years ago, it's so trashed now and there are bypasses for everything.

I’m interested in joining. Seeing that I’m 2wd I definitely won’t be getting all rock crawly with you guys. I am locked & on 35s with plenty of experience and if there are bypasses & other goodies to play on... count me in!

Elvis is literally the easiest trail on the docket and it’s 4x4 only. I’m not down with tearing up trails and cutting or using illegal bypasses. Sorry.

Damn! That’s awesome!!

Good shit!

It just goes up from there.

The issue is all of these trails are rock crawly, it's not like the back way to CK where it's a road with options to try. Although Elvis is turning that way it seems. We need a good flood through there to fix what has been destroyed.

If you want to come along it will be as a passenger mang, sorry. These trials are getting bad and it's 2wd and SxS causing it. This is not an attack on any skill you may have driving your rig.

We all have to be mindful of the lands that we are losing to closures.

Agree. Although its a worst-gen 4runner all the bad has been fixed with the 3.4 motor swap and sas

Exactly. Best of both the first and 3rd gen in a compact body. Basically what I plan on building if I can't land an 85 when I'm ready for a sfa build.
