Well I caved...
While I've been waiting for the BeerRunner to get the LS swap done, I've been really bumming about missing out on so much wheeling. Considering how long it's taken to just do the motor swap, I realized it'll probably take a hell of a lot longer to finish the suspension and roll cage. My brother and most of my friends have been nagging me about being down for so long, and not having a rig to wheel in the meantime for the past few months. I've been saying how I don't want to fall down another rabbit hole and end up spending my weekends and money on a new rig instead of finishing the BeerRunner. I've been pretty good about it for the past few months, but this past week had me really missing wheeling. I was relaxing outside yesterday just scrolling through the FB classifieds and just "happened" to stumble across this 1999 Limited with an e-Locker for a good price... I asked my wife what she thought and she said go for it. Pulled some cash and was over there within an hour looking at it. Long story short, I bought another money pit.

The plan for this one is just to get be through the next year while I finish building the BeerRunner. Hoping to keep it relatively simple and cheap. Kind of going for the cookie cutter build. Some things I have planned are the following:
  • 255/80R17 Tires
  • Take the coilovers from the BeerRunner and put them on here.
  • JL coils that I have in the garage for the rear (about 2" or so of lift)
  • DuroBumps front and rear
  • Eimkeith PCK, LCAR, STR
  • SPC UCA from the BeerRunner
  • Whiteline LCA Bushings
  • Alignment Cam Eliminator Plates
  • Radio (Head Unit)
  • Make Some Sliders.
  • Ditch Lights (I already have the lights, just need brackets)
I think this should be enough to get me through the next year. I've been going stir crazy without wheeling over the past 6 months.

There was a lot of little things that weren't working.
  • Windshield wipers were disconnected from the control motor (easy as reconnecting the rod to the motor)
  • Locker wasn't working (The wiring to the button was cut for some reason and there is no plug to the button. I just added another switch till I get the right connector for the stock switch)
  • Power seats, door locks, and windows stopped working (ended up being a fuse that was rigged. Replaced the fuse and good to go)
  • Throttle, and kick down cables were stupid loose. Full throttle at the pedal was like half throttle at the throttle body. (The adjusters were almost maxed out so I ended up bending the bracket about 1/4" to get more slack taken up and all is good now)
  • Center console wasn't bolted down. (Easy as tossing in some new bolts)
  • Transfer Case actuator is shot, so I will put in a J-Shift case, and take the driveshafts from the BeerRunner.
Also pulled the tow package and the running boards.

It's so cute. Wanna go do Isham when you get the lift on? Pretty sure we can make it look tough in about 1 mile. lol

What size tires can you fit with no lift? Asking for a friend
How much are you willing to cut is the real question!

No! I am trying to maintain a decent body on this one. This one won't be for rock crawling, just cruising around and getting into some trouble. At least that's the current plan.
Envious I am

Dreams are good!
First time using the lift was today. It's pretty damn nice!
I'm gonna buy you a transmission jack just so I can use your lift to change out my rear seal.
Sounds like a deal to me!

Love you Matt, but fuck off. Never hurts to have a mild build so you can still get out in between downtime.

LMAO. I still get out all the time. Like today and yesterday. Last Saturday and Sunday. The weekend before that. So what's your point? lol

Lies. If you wheeled your rig would be down all the time too.

:anon:

Nice buy. Don’t be a Danny with two non functional rigs. Always strive to have one up and running. Lol.

I happen to have 2 1/2 fully functioning vehicles thank you very much.

Runner is getting maintenance though.

Pretty much. We’ll see how it goes. I’m sure I can get into plenty of fun stuff while keeping it simple. But you know how I am... I can’t just keep things simple or take it easy.

Yep. All I gotta do is keep poking the bear. Shouldn't be too hard. I've got a spare J-shift in the garage if you need it. It's the original from my rig. I was keeping it as a spare but if you can't find one let me know.

I might have to take you up on that J-shift case. I might already have one lined up but gotta double check if it really is a J-shift case. I’ll keep you posted.

It comes without a shifter but it was working perfectly when I pulled it. Might as well get twin sticks for it. Then you can use 2wd Lo Locked for most things.
