I am looking to probably just pick up some new PVC/faux leather/cloth reclining bucket seats and make mounts for them off of the factory points. I ditched the rear bench seat and I have a low mount I made running across from Pass to Driver so that I can mount two more reclining buckets back there. Carrying 5 people in there is just silly IMO. I'd like to make a rear console with decent cup holders in conjunction with the new front center console I have to now make.

Something to the likes of this riveted console

I haven't had a driver's side rear seat in the 4runner in forever. Took it out to hold my tools and recovery gear. My son's getting big enough to sit in the front so the rear passenger seat may be coming out soon too.

I could see myself using the low-pro mount I made as a base for storage when not traveling with other people. It's tied into the factory seat points which makes for an incredibly versatile use of space.

I finally talked myself into hating the center hoop of the bumper. I think that no hoops are much more complimentary to the body lines of the front end. Animal strikes aren't terribly common in the N Ga mountains, so the bumper hoop is mainly an aesthetic. With the @eimkeith bumper due to arrive, I think this will look far better after I finish designing a flat top plate to weld on. I really want a flat top to have a workable surface and an area to stand on if I have to.
IMG_20201021_202910.jpg Going to try to tuck this back a bit more to get a little more clearance ...

For front seat go to local kick yards. Find a sports car and pull them out. I had Acura high backs with side supports in my Suzuki samurai crawler.

I have heard good things about Acura seats. Some people have been telling me about Lexus seats too. I might go prowling around for some. I think I might also put bucket seats in the back since the bench is now gone.

I use my hoop to determine front bumper distance, but it's tucked up a little closer to my grill and barely sticks up over the hood.

I started over the weekend with my 25th Anniversary Project. This truck was stamped on 11/95 in the first 1,000 trucks to roll out onto US soil in 1996. The truck is showing a bit of its age and I thought it would be cool to restore this truck in way that would update it aesthetically and technologically (only to a certain degree)... this is still a base model 4cyl at the end of the day. Body panels and a new air intake system to kick it off.

A wind fairing proved itself to be necessary just the other day. I couldn't stand it.

Interior is also stripped back to get a whole bunch of sound deadening and insulation. grinding back a few welds to double and triple check for pinholes in the wheel well where it was tubbed to get a rust-proofing and undercoating treatment.

Fenders made an early appearance yesterday. Working on body lines for the trim. Trying to trim as little as I can. Thoughts? They look a tiny bit uneven comparing the two, so I'll shoot for a little bit closer, but I'm not too worried about it.

Front: Hub to Fender (23.5")
Rear: Hub to Fender (28.5")

5" of rake.... Yikes. Hopefully the rear bumper and tank swap will help take care of that a bit. Trying to get this thing low and trim as little as possible.

You chopped your fenders so you can't rely on fender numbers anymore. What rear springs are you running? 861's?

As far as the front fenders do one side them make a cardboard template and transfer that to the other side. They'll be exactly the same that way.

The rear isn't chopped! The front's are new replacements, so I think they should be pretty accurate numbers. I'm running the OME 851. Good idea on the cardboard, definitely doing that. Need to Decide which one I prefer, thoughts?

On another note, the front is fairly low. UCA is almost flat.

How is the front drive shaft angle looking. Start cranking them coils.

Yeah my coil spring light came on in the dash. I think one of the level indicators is broken..... :anon:
check the blinker fluid, sometimes that will cause the right/left level lights to come on intermittently.
