Probing for information and trying to consolidate it to one place. I am a glutton for punishment and I haven't totally given up on IFS.... I'm trying to get some information from those that have toyed with the idea of a bigger front IFS diff.
@AssBurns @eimkeith @theesotericone et al.
Potential:
- 4th gen front 8" differential
(Driver's drop, ADD possibly an issue, diff mounts are an issue)
- RCV will make custom shafts with different spline counts for inner/outer
- Go all out and design a fabricated spindle using the factory hub
- Stock width LCA to eliminate LBJ and steering woes
- Sort out some sort of ram steering to get rid of the stock rack
Does anyone have input that they can pull from having done research on any of this stuff in the past? If I can nail down most of this. I will just throw myself down the never-ending rabbit hole and do everything possible to pull off an 8" front IFS diff swap to be as bullet proof as it can be to handle 35's (max) without any of the critical failures that the 3rd gen IFS typically sees.
