So....

So this thing....

For my 07 Civic ...

It's not perfect. Starts hard cold. Fires right up hot. No lack of power (22re so.... What power). Rear diff is "locked" (I guess welded).

I want it but I don't. The motor was swapped in, it's got wiring that goes nowhere and it's got rust on the box cross braces.

But it shifts well and rides so rough that it's perfect.

Advice?

Those shackles are scary looking and so is the rust I can see from a distance on the rear end but those can be remedied. I’m from a pretty rust free area so I see surface rust and get scared :bounce:

Anyone know if all kenwood double dins use the same wiring harness?
I ordered a basic kenwood double din and it would be super convenient if it will just plug in to my existing harness

In my experience, with 3 Pioneer stereos in 3 different cars (and a busted one sitting in the garage) pretty much every wire color has been the exact same on each one. So if you had a kenwood, and have the harness, you would hope it's the same as the one you're about to put in. I wanna say the Sony that I pulled out of the Jetta (I wanted a BT capable stereo) had the same color schemes as the Pioneer I put in did and I didn't even need the harness I bought.

Rust and how it drives would be my concern. Those shackles make me want to verify the fab design of it.

The shackles front and back are "adjustable". Weird to me too.
Frame is sound. Beat on it in the common and uncommon trouble spots. Was pleasantly surprised.

Rear end is "locked" (welded), so it drives like shit. The shackle angle is too steep so the thing rides like hell. Boomerangs and an open rear end would do wonders for it.

Hmmm it has potential...cones down to are you ok with that ride? Any guess if the locked rear might prove to be troublesome later?

He offered to throw in an open rear end.

My issue is that truck will never be the highway vehicle my 07 civic is. For my boat, as I originally wanted to trade, I'd be happy.

For the civic, I'm getting rid of a capable and cheap daily that allows me to build an offroader as I please, for a dedicated offroader that doesn't accomplish anything as a daily. It's gutless, can't tow shit, but boy howdy will she be good offroad.

Like I probably wouldn't bother with the SAS on the rodeo with that taco around.
