4.88s definitely.
After roughly 80k miles of highway driving in 4.88s I would not call the highway rpms high.
Mileage sucked when I was on 33s and stock gears, and it didn't get better with the 35s and gears.
And fuck mileage. It ain't no Prius

My goal is just to keep the mileage close to double digits, which is where I'm at now. Driving around at 3500 rmp on the highway would suck

What gears did Tim have?

Pretty much everyone I've talked to regrets 4.56 gears. Take the extra leap to 4.88 or if you plan on bigger tires then 5.29 isn't the worst option either.

Hmm... I might have to do that. But according to the calculator 4.88 puts me at 2700 rmp on the highway, 5.29 is over 3K

2700 is about right near 80. If I keep my rpms at 2500 or less I'm still doing 70s and mpg is slightly better. I have an exhaust leak that kills me on uphills so I have to drop into 4th to keep speed if I lose initial momentum and that kills me..

80 on a stock setup should be about 2700, and when I downshift my current setup in 4th I'm around 3100.

I guess 4.88s it is.

4runner transmission may be geared a little different? I have a screenshot somewhere showing 2700 rpms w/ gps speed around 77 via torque pro.

I have the A750E in the Taco. Depending on year you may have a different one, but I think they are all pretty close.

so many fail to deduct the added parts to the truck from the towing capacity. so important. brakes are often overlooked too.

Not just weight, also CG changes and the effect of suspension work on handling. Stability on the highway towing is limiting your offroad capability, after all.
