I'll probably do the 4runner deal up front and get 17s with the 35s. Wonder how big of a difference it really makes? I think SOS Performance has a rear 4runner conversion kit.

There's a couple rear conversion options out there, but the 4runner conversion on the front is definitely the easy button up front.

wait... you're doing a SAS now?

No, I'm still doing the long travel IFS. But I think I'm going to upgrade from the OEM bearings to the d60 hubs at some point.

But putting that axle down in front of the truck made me think really hard about scrapping the whole IFS thing and doing SAS.

Nah, I'm building the IFS off the OEM bearings and outer CVs that I have. I've got all the parts, including axles. I wish I'd though that through a little better though, and just ordered the D60 stuff. If (when) I break it I'll upgrade.

Someone at the other place bought my entire rear axle though, so that upgrade got moved up the list.

So the D60 unit bearings are for the rear axle? Building a 609 axle? (D60 outers and 9" inners)

Yup. D60 full floater unit bearings, 35 spline drive slugs and a 35 spline ford 9 rear.

The Trail Gear full floater kit was too good a black friday deal to pass up.

LT UCA, horizontal uniball and heim joints for camber/caster adjustment. Needs gussets before I drive on it.

Final LCA installed with spindle and UCA mock up. Spindle and UCA hangers coming soon

Final UCA on a mock-up hanger.

Good camber and caster curves, and the tire should clear lock to lock at everything but full stuff.

Next is finishing the hangers and building spindles.

Damn that looks good! :beerscheers: I need to catch up!

Are you keeping 4wd? If so, will that nice camber curve bite you in the ass and limit droop with CV angles?

Yup, keeping 4WD.

CV angle is the limiting factor for travel, but with a 934 inner I should be able to get all the useful travel out of the arms. The combination of short spindle and short UCA mean that I can invert the UCA and lock the suspension, the fully drooped picture is very close to that point, so I'll have to strap it a little higher anyway, and probably set the shock as a secondary limit to keep it from happening.

I should be getting 15 to 16" of usable travel, with a 1.5" per side wider than stock, so basically the same track width I had before with spacers on the MT front end.
