Can anyone think of a reason not to turn the steering pickup on the spindle horizontal, like the upper and lower uniballs?

There's still quite a bit left in my CVs for down travel, but the steering heim has run out. 16347549022075000587470057315293.jpg

Other than running out of travel, I can't think of one.
At full bump what does the heim angle look like?
If you still have room at bump, why not angle the bolt mounting to allow for clearance at bump and droop?

It looks like the steering has about 40 degrees of throw, and the hiem joint can handle 35 to 40. So it should limit out about the same as the uniballs.

Its not quite binding at full bump, but very close.

As configured now there's no bump steer and 14" of travel, so I may just put it back together and go wheeling.
