Yeah was thinking that a couple pages back.

Edit: soon as I'm done eating I'll grab the laptop and make the move.

Forums giving me shit tonight and doesn't wanna move threads. I'm too tired to care, so I'll try again tomorrow while I'm on a conference call that I really don't give a fuck about and shouldn't even be happening to begin with except people are fucking retarded and they don't understand the concepts of their own fucking business.

Thank you. Off the bat maybe a few thousand. Once I get comfortable with stocks, probably 10k or so. My thought process is I'm better off learning the stock market and investing my money there versus having all my money sitting in the bank collecting very little growth.

Ah okay. Is it money straight from your paycheck? My work does something similar

If your company matches put at least that much in. That pre tax like a 401k. It's mostly for when you start making more money you can get into a lower tax bracket

Naw, just with this bullshit project they can't seem to understand. I told them a week and a half ago I was done with my data validation and what they needed to look at on their side. Apparently I needed to include the dumb fuck notes in the spreadsheet I was working on because they're under the impression I still need to look at another 1500 items. It's more like 120 items. They keep pulling me off my day to day shit to do this so it backs up that work and then I play catch up for an entire week.

It's what happens when two companies are "partners" but separate entities and nobody wants to pony up the budget to get everyone on the same fucking software systems. Too many workarounds across too many different systems.
It makes it so much easier to blame the other team that way.

In reality it is the other team. They're trying to map off our enterprise system. Our enterprise system has items mapped from as400 systems. The as400 items aren't coming through how the enterprise items come through because the as400 items are limited on the data they can carry. This is causing mismatching data on *their* end because they don't understand how the as400 items work. There's certain conversion factors in play, which I've been telling them for two fucking months, but they still can't get it through their heads that *they* need a work around on *their* side to handle the conversions.

*shudders* know this all too well. Again, campfire stories. Job where this happened deals with sensitive information and big companies

but more importantly....

Can I have a moment of your time to talk about our Lord and Savior, enveloped XML?

Nope. I don't deal with web design. That's why there's nothing special on this forum outside of what I can find for add-ons.

It's not just for web design. We used it a lot to pass secure Information from crazy old main frames, cobol bullshit and other cobweb addled hardware so we could run our reports. Perl runs the world.

old signs on my desk

There are no stupid questions, only inquisitive idiots.

Ask the same stupid question twice and I'll replace you with a Perl script.

Rule 1: If I can do an internet search and answer your question in less than 15seconds, you are fired.

Rule 2: See rule 1.

It's not my job to care how information moves between systems. It's my job to make sure the information is accurate and correctly laid out according to company and department standards.
