And the starter is out of the 97. Time for a new one to go in. Hopefully this is the last of starting issues.View attachment 17588
I rebuilt it last weekend except the plunger. It was filthy and points were fucked. It worked for 2 days then stopped again. Just going to put a new one in and call it good. Never worry about it again.Just rebuild that one. New contacts and plunger and it will work like new. It's also super easy and cheap. This is the kit I used and it took about ten minutes. My starters been working great for 3 years since the "rebuild".

So I got my harley first. Still no tundra in the driveway. But she is fine with the taco still. I think I may just buy us something without all the mods just to take to the valley on runs. That's really all we need it for as we both enjoy our current dailys.I know that you will get both but Wit will get her Tundra first because you are the best hubby in the world. Besides it you do get hers first you will be able to get more Harley when it's your turn. . Wish I could watch the dogs for you man.
While I'm doing al this I really want to order all the new rear links and durometer bumps. Just don't want to drop another 1k today. I do get my commission check tho Friday and have a fuck ton of sidework lined out tho.......
On another note I am going to paint pirate Mary when all this stuff is done. Between colors so let me know what you think.
Black sand pearl
Keep the anthracite
Or go to cement Grey
My tacoma was black sand pearl. (Check first post) I loved it. She shined so good after a wash and/wax. I'm just thinking of the door jambs and engine bay. But I really have no reason ever to sell so I don't really care. I was planning on buying a cement 4runner or tundra. I really like the color. So that seems the best decision without a 50k vehicle loan for no reason other than color. Wife votes keep it original colorMy Tacoma is black sand pearl. It's an awesome color when the paint is in good shape, but it's hard to keep clean.
There are fewer and fewer of them being spotted. I do agree and that why I'm torn. If it was a white or silver already then it would be easy to go a different color in my mind. Also why I'm thinking now cause I'm still a year out ish before paint.Original color for sure. In my opinion the Anthracite Grey was one of my favorite Toyota colors, plus keeping an era specific color just looks better in my opinion than the cement grey.
Since I did the oil change the other night I noticed both cv axles and fucked boots. I don't want to rebuild again. So found new ones from Napa. Had to order the 98 tacoma I guess they came with manual hubs so I luckily found them that will work with the warn manual hubs.
Had to take a 7 hour drive around the state of az today and I was nervous about the front end knowing I have the majority of all the parts sitting in the garage. Only heard a little bit of noise from the driver side axle. I switched the hubs off so the cv's were not moving and it was just a bit of rubbing from the dust shield. And allot of noise out of my upper bushings squeaking.
I like the Napa ones personally. Been running them on the Taco now pushing 75k miles and not so much as a small Crack. I was nervous today as to the roads out on the rez. They are basically a fucked asphalt road that more resembles a fast LT road that is asphalt over with cracks, chunks, dips, off camber shit and jumps.Better than nothing. I ran autozone axles for awhile before I got a chance to reboot and put the OEM axles back in. Killed one boot but didn't snap anything and I ran locked at least a couple times (mostly for shits and giggles not because I needed it)
