it was running fine before you blew the fuse wasn't it? and you had already replaced the fuel pump and filter. Id go straight to checking for spark.

Don't think he ever checked it after he replaced the fuel pump and filter so there still may be an underlying issue leading back to the misfire that he had originally.

Well I had an issue that I THINK was the fuel pump. I swapped the fuel pump and blew the fuse due to putting the jumper cables on wrong. Fixed the fuse and now it doesn't fire. Prior to this, it would fire up, but misfire a ton under throttle.

Gents, I think I mixed up a couple of the leads from the solenoid to my winch and the winch will only spool out one way with the controller but will free spool no issues either way. Any suggestions? Google says contactor needs to be replaced(wtf is that)?
I have a Superwinch TS9500SR. Superwinch's contact number requires an extension that I do not have...

i dont see anything on their schematic showing a contactor. you might have just burnt something up in the solenoid.

I believe its rewired correct right now. I still will probably play with moving around the connections, but I am worried that I might cause more damage while testing it.

if It's wired correctly now i wouldn't change the connection and put any load on it. could do more damage, even to your battery. This PDF show's how it should be wired up the solenoid (in case you didn't have it)

Yeah, so I replaced the 120A alternator fuse, hooked up the jumper cables (the right way this time!) and it turns over, but doesn't fire. Can't tell if its a fuel issue or an ignition issue. Gonna pull a fuel line tonight and see if there is any fuel pressure. If I'm getting fuel, I'll check to see if I'm getting any spark.

Remember when my truck struggled to start at KOH? It had the same symptoms you are describing and it ended up being the TPS being knocked loose.

You could check continuity on the faulty solenoid. Check the two small posts for continuity. If it doesn't have it that's the issue. How old is the winch?

Hmmm. Could be, but it was working before. After the fuel pump/ jumper cable fiasco it doesn't. I'll check some more tonight. Gonna start at fuel, then move to ignition.

Well I finally got my shit fixed. Ended up replacing a lot of stuff. Pretty much everything helped a little.
I started with the fuel pump & filter. Didn’t help at all.
Then AFR sensor, which helped a lot.
Then cleaned Trottle body. Helped a bit.
Then replaced all intake gaskets. Helped a little.
Then changed spark plug wires and boots. Finally fixed it all.

Pain in the ass but finally ready to wheel!
