Put another 3.5 hours in today:

pulled the bed off to clean up the underside of the welds and seam seal them.

I'd been googling about what primer I can use to keep it from rusting until I can get the bodywork done - and became thoroughly confused as to whether or not self-etching rattle can primer was going to be a problem under body filler. This is my daily driver, and I need to get it back on the road (been on the bike all week), so I ended up just painting it with some SEM paint that I found in the shop today.

I guess we'll see?

While the bed was off I screwed around with some frame end cap ideas I cut the frame rails down 8.25 inches yesterday, and want to reinforce the shackle hanger now that the rear half has been cut off. The frame cap will have a nut welded to the back side - in case I need it for bumper mounting - and will have a bent skirt that will fall tangent to the shackle mount sleeve for welding.

I still need to cut the lower bedsides, but I want to think more about bumper design before I do that, so here's how it sits at the moment:

pretty funny on the little tires, but I love it.

Thanks! I actually have 2 gear cases stashed away, but need 4.7s..,

Still jealous. Wish I was able to snag that when I had the opportunity. Too bad vacation and buying a house are supposedly more important than dual cases (according to my wife) :jerkoff:

That’s ok; you’ve got a consolation prize waiting for you. :)

If that consolation prize is one of those gear driven cases send it @AssBurns way. Those things are getting harder and harder to find. He just needs to grab a TG adapter kit and Marlin total spline input shaft. I'm tired of being the only one with a dual case setup. @Tetten has a Tacobox on order but that shit will take years. Lol

I don't expect to go to any website for these. I expect a pm from the CEO along with a bag of dicks in my order because of the constant pain in the ass that I can be. :beathorse::beerscheers:

Dicks are a cost-plus option, though. I’m all about that upsell?

Stealing my case before i can even get to the shop!!? lol jk, that thing looks sweet, maybe we can knock out dual casing both trucks together! Something tells me you might have yours done before mine though.

Just received a "lightly, lovingly used" 4.7 case from cali to add to my 2.28. Heading up to @eimkeith shop this weekend to unbox and begin planning the install etc. Its been sitting up there all week and I haven't even got to see it yet!
