Sorry, there's no tech here, just some rehab after years abuse and neglect. No SAS, 40's, LS swap, turbo, sub woofer or stripper pole, just:jerkoff:.

It's an 03 Tacoma, ext cab trd, 3.4 MT bought new in 2003. Changed the oil every 5k but that's about it. Plenty of rust but nothing catastrophic, I think/hope. Got a company truck in 2011 that they let me use any way I pleased so the Tacoma started to sit in atrophy. Took it hunting a few times, let my mom drive it while I fixed her car and sadly, let my ex drive it while she was getting her shit fixed but it has sat in state since 2015.

2019, I decided to bring it back to life. Valve cover gaskets, coils, wires, plugs, timing belt, water pump, suspension, fucking bushings, front/rear bearings, drive line rehab, carrier bearing, brakes, clutch, minor body work, paint correction, rust mitigation and a bunch of other dumb, exciting shit.

Well, life got in the way early 2020. I was rebuilding the ass end at the time. Shouldn't be too bad if I can find all the parts but that was many beers ago. So this is an "if I can find the parts" build thread. I know they're in the garage somewhere. Where'd my drunk ass stash them?

I'll post some pics when I find em. Far from a pro and feel free to flame away. Got some F5's sitting here with no rubber since 2019 too. Fuck, I'm lazy!

And I thought mine sitting around for 7 months was bad. It happens. 4runner is getting close if I'd get off my ass and make sure my tires clear the bypasses plus extended brake lines. Think the battery in the Tacoma is going bad because I only move it on street sweeping day. Feels like it's struggling to start. Should probably drive it once in awhile but the car gets better mpg.

Lol. I have a 12yo duralast gold in there that somehow still manages to crank. I think they fucked up on that battery.

Probably going to have some fuel issues too since it hasn't been started for a couple years.

Is there any way to get my username changed to Next Weekend?

Again, I was planning on getting the shitbox reassembled this weekend. Well, another something magically came up (don't ever get married). So, maybe next weekend?

If you want me to change it, I'll change it.

Did some spelunking in the garage earlier trying to dig out the tile saw. Found the rear axle shafts, 3 of em, brake lines, wheel well liners, part of the rear bumper assembly and some hardware. I guess that's a win for today.

And my shin just met the sway bar lol:boink:

Anybody know what steel this thing is made from? Maybe a 1095 or 5160? Might have to fire the forge back up one day and make some choppers.

Alright, parts hunt is going well. All that's left to locate is the plastic bewlshit to attach the liners, axle shims and a few miscellaneous bolts. Wish I hadn't stacked the axle shafts together without marking them.

JesusAllahBuddah, let me put this bitch back together this weekend!
