Hi Everyone,
I was curious to know if there are any companies manufacturing independent suspension setup for H2 Hummers. Also, would anyone know if a combination independent suspension can be acquired along with portal axle set up that is offered for solid axles in order to get extra clearance for half shafts going to the wheels, not necessarily to get more lift.
I appreciate any tips I can get.
Many thanks!:)

I wonder if anything made for a Chevy/gmc would work for it.

I m sure it would cause the basis of H2 is a chevy class 250. But question is first off ,
Are there replacement conversion kits from solid to independent suspension available for H2?
Secondly, if there's a portal kit available for this particular independent suspension?

Are you just talking about shocks and coilovers? If so, then yes there are many "lift kit" options out there that come with shocks and coilovers. I think King makes a bolt on hit for upgraded suspension.

Now for portals, I have no idea if anyone makes anything. Wouldn't be surprised if there was since the H1 had portals and I'm sure there is some sort of carryover in the Hummer crowd and someone's probably retrofitted H1 portals to the H2.

Didn't we recently have another dude with a h2 or h3? I can't find his thread and I don't remember the user name, but he had some mods to his.

True about the H1 portaIs retrofitting. I will look into it. actually, that may be the answer to my question, thanks !
As far as , the rear solid axle is what I was concerned that I would like to go independent just like the front and go Same portal set up as what you mentioned above is what I meant.

In that regard I'd look into an H1 IRS conversion. The rear on the H1's are independent suspension with portal axles as well. Could be worth converting all of the suspension and diffs to the H1 components. If I remember correctly, you can pick up a milsurp HMMWV for pretty cheap. Rob all the parts you need for the swap from that.

It all sounds good. Let me ask you this. After what you just mentioned, it just occurred to me that instead of purchasing parts from H1 and using them on H2, What do u think about purchasing a whole frame and suspension and just swapping the H2 body on the H1 chassis?

Probably a hell of a lot less work in some cases, but I'm pretty sure the engine and drivetrain on the H1 sits a lot further back than the H2. You'd have to do some reconfiguring of things to get the engine to sit in the same spot as the H2 body was designed around.

True if that s the case, then I may have to relocate the engine mounts and might as well go with the gasoline engine instead of the diesel even though I like to experience the diesel since I ve never had one and even so in this case since I d be needing to relocate the engine then I could even consider swapping an electric motor. But then all kinds of battery conversion would be required which I d have to go Tesla components as well.
