Whatcha think? Do you consider Twin Traction Beam front suspension to be IFS?

There are two thoughts on this. One is that it’s two independent suspension components moving independent from each other. The other thought is that TTB is its own realm somewhere between Solid Axle and IFS.

Speaking of beams, check this out. This guy made his beams on two pivots to counter the drastic camber change on beamed suspension. Pretty awesome! I wonder how strong it really is compared to single pivot? The lack of vertical separation is a little scary but I’m pretty sure I remember this guy hucking the hell out of his truck in the past with no issues. It’s like the benefits of IFS and beams mixed together. Pretty sweet.

Ha ha ha To much shit going in every direction.

You woulda got real fucked up checking out these beauties from the 70s.
The Vemco V drive. Two pumpkins, two driveshafts. Dana dreamed it up as I recall and Ford & Chev gave it a whirl. The splitter case for the front was a real treat to look at the guts of.

WTF?! Never heard of that. Talk about unsprung weight. I can’t figure out exactly how the suspension is setup. What were those on?

Oh, and my own first 4x4 that I owned was an ‘86 Samurai. Probably the two most notorious roll over death machines.
Get ready to learn something today. It's a two part video and it's slow at first but it will show you what big money can do.

The second video plays after the first.

Jeep? What's a Jeep?

They were used on Vans and a few cars. I've always wanted one just for the sheer "Holy hell" factor. I believe the fronts were typically coils.

They wouldn't have much more unsprung weight than a straight axle. Yeah pumpkins weight a bit but with split power they could run tiny diffs in each one. Basically, you could run 2 30s instead of a single 60.
