Man up and get down here. lol

I gotta sneaking suspicion this trip ain't gonna happen this weekend anyway.

@AssBurns

Did you swap the fuel filter when you swapped tanks?
No but the fuel filter has been swapped when I first did the tank relocation, and when I did the 4 link. Should still be good.

It sounds more like an ignition issue than a fuel issue. The fuel issue the other day was from lack of fuel. Fuel Gauge doesn't work. I need to replace my sending unit I think.

Pull the plugs and see. If your not hitting on a cylinder there will be gas in that cylinder.

I mentioned the fuel filter because that can also cause a vehicle to run rough under load but idle OK.

I mean it could be a bad fuel pump I guess. I'll start with checking the plugs and coils. If all looks good, I'll check the fuel pump/filter. I did run my tank pretty low if I couldn't even start it. Could have killed the pump.

@AssBurns

Have you checked for codes yet? If your misfiring that bad the codes should also show that. Just helping you narrow it down. We leave for the trail in less then 13 hours. lol

I really hope it's a simple fix but if it's not we can postpone.

That was my first thought. Pump is strong enough to provide fuel for idle, but can’t keep up with anything past that

That's a real possibility that I didn't really consider until recently. Gotta figure out how to check fuel pressure.

I have the following codes that aren't normally there like missing 2nd O2 sensor and speedo sensor.

P0171 - System Too Lean Bank 1
P1130 - Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Malfunction Bank 1 Sensor 1

Yeah, that's not a misfire code. The misfire code is P030X. X being the cylinder that's misfiring.

If your running lean that highly suggest fuel filter/pump. You could pull the send line off the fuel filter and check pressure there. For some reason Toyota didn't put I diag port on the fuel system in the 3.4. It's a real PIA to test pressure.

It could just be water in the AF sensor?

I just checked and the AF sensor is the upstream sensor in your model year. Clean that connector up with some electric cleaner and plug it back in.

I’m gonna try that first actually. Based on my reading (not much) it could be a sensor such as MAF or even a vacuum leak. I couldn’t find any vacuum leaks yesterday when looking/listening. I’ll pick up a can of cleaner. If it’s not that, it might be the fuel pump. I’ll try pulling the fuel line and see how it reacts. Normally it blows a shit ton of fuel, so if it is weak, I’ll notice probably.

Good call guys. I wouldn’t even have thought it was a fuel delivery issue unless you said something. Now that you guys say it, it sounds more like starving for fuel than an actual misfire.

Over the hills and through the woods. You missed a fun trip man. Any word on your rig?
I'm jealous and bummed that I couldn't make it. Looks like it was fun!

Honestly I haven't touched it since Friday night. Picked up a fuel filter, but haven't done anything since buying that. Had to finish fixing the Lexus yesterday and built a shelf in the garage. I wasn't in the mood to work on the rig, so it's still sitting.

It was. We'll get back there when the snow clears. We did a lot of bouncing off the rev limiter to go 50 feet and get stuck. Good times. The rest of the trail was fun. I'm stoked @Hank decided to come out.

We all just need to keep our rigs running and keep the major breakages to a minimum. @Hank actually had a spare shaft and a spare CV this trip. Get your rig running and let's wheel. I think what might work better for our group is a weekend set aside monthly. This way we all know on the x weekend of every month we are doing something.

Kyle and I had no clue what we where actually doing till that morning. I looked in the book and found Swansea-Cerro Gordo linkup. Neither of us knows DV very well so we just went for it. We both knew that the snow was going to be an issue and it was. We still had a blast. We found enough stuff to keep us occupied for 6 hours of wheeling.

The PBR's cleared the snow no problem. Kyle was in front for the hole snow section so he got trail breaking duty. The snow was about as bad as snow gets. It was totally fluffy shit that never packed no matter how fast or slow you went. Think of trying to drive uphill in 2 feet of granular sugar. The high point of the trail is 9200' and we turned around at 8600'. If we had another day we probably would have kept going and possibly even made it through. lol
