I retired the truck from daily driving duties 4/10/2019. Now I can get serious about modding it for off road
I picked up a 2016 Corolla with 20k miles. I'm still amazed at the MPG difference

I know right. I said I'm going to be done after Kings and the rear shock relocate but I know i'm not. I'm already thinking of back halfing it or building a flat bed.

On a side note my shocks are limiting droop 2- 2 1/2 inches in the rear

I need anew rear, I should just do 4 link and be done.

Fuck that I'm done. There's nothing left but to 4 link, SAS, or crawl box and they all cost more money than I'm willing to put into my rig.

Except maybe the crawl box. I'm tempted, but I don't know that I really want it.

What about fixing all the small annoying shit? I could spend 500 hours on mine just cleaning up little details of shit that works just fine.

You should and do a write-up so I can see how it's done. Really though I'm good with leafs I need to carry a load every now and then

If I do it, there will definitely be a good write up. But that's a couple years off unless I hit the Powerball

I consider that part of the game, I'm still basically done. Hahah. I do need to redo my dual battery voltage monitor and hard wired USB plugs in the front.

I really hate wiring. I think this truck has a billion wires in it.

I installed the alarm and remote start myself. Never again, it took me 5 afternoons and a Saturday. The write-up I was using was for a different year model and the wires were different colors but the pins on the harnesses were the same.

Fortunately wiring power ports isn't as terrible as wiring an alarm. Run the wires, fuse it accordingly, done. I do miss my voltage meters for my batteries though. When I swapped from a single din to double din stereo I lost the spot I had them in..

Seriously though WTF. I know I didn’t cross thread or over torque it, I always torque them down by hand because I want to be able to get them off in the middle of bum fuck Egypt. This fucker backed off about an 1/8 inch then the stud started spinning. I had to drill the stud to get it off.

so glad I didn't find this on the trail. I have no idea what i would have done to get it off

I just checked the torque on mine while I was refreshing LCA ball joints. Those are about the only thing I loctite religiously and torque to spec then double check after 100 miles if I have to remove them for any reason.

No, this was the studs that go to the wheel. not the studs on the hub I don't loctite those

Finally got my new wheels on. I still had a little rub on the body mount with the old wheels It doesn't rub with these.

I went from a 16x9 to a 16x8 wheel and it made all the differance.

Even kitty-kitty approves
