I recently picked up this 2 door Yukon with plans of it becoming my dedicated wheeling vehicle. For now I'll be rocking it the way it sits. As things start failing or breaking I'll think about going with a SAS. I live in the Midwest so this makes more sense over a long travel kit because of the terrain we have out here. All rocky and muddy trails through the woods. I'm looking forward to this build.

This one is in pretty decent shape. Kind of feel bad that I'm going to beat it up.

Actually looks pretty clean! Definitely gonna be a fun vehicle to wheel. Would be a cool candidate for a long travel SUV.
Does it have the 5.7?

It sure does! Sounds nice. It's my first V8 SUV. I love the fuel capacity, but it doesn't last very long driving on city roads. I haven't bothered calculating MPG. I know it's worst than my FJ Cruiser. I'm just going to leave it a a mystery. Lol

Haha I feel the same way. Just leave that mpg thing a mystery. What you don’t know doesn’t hurt.
What’s the plan with it for now? Any suspension upgrades? Lockers? Etc?

For now I'm just going beat on it as is. It came with all of the following brand new: wheels, tires, winch, bumper, front diff, cv axles, lower ball joints, UCA's, and to include a bunch of sensors got replaced.

On my list of things to do are:
Power steering pump
Gear box w/all new lines
Rack and pinion
Possibly new radiator and transmission cooler
Fix A/C (wheeling on hot humid days is unbearable without A/C lol)
Upgrade headlights (night time visibility is non existent)
Also fix the hacked up harness under the dash. The owner previous who I bought it from chopped it up trying to install an alarm system himself. He didn't finish it. Now a few things don't work, such as the button to pop open the rear glass.

Long term plan is to do a SAS, go up to 37's, front and rear lockers, and twin or triple sticks.

Cool. I had a 97 4 door for a while that saw a lot of hard dirt miles. I broke the torsion bar crossmember a couple of times by getting it hung up on rocks hah.
