You forgot who’s thread this is. He has the money. Stop discouraging him, we need to be enablers. Spend moar!!
I've been spoiled by very good brakes and going back to the truck after driving a super expensive beetle for awhile, it felt like someone swapped soapy sponges for the pads. Drum brakes just anger me and if they got replaced before I bought the truck new, It'd still be too soon.
Dollars to smiles, it makes a lot of sense, dollars to reality...we all know it nevers adds up. lol
I have the money too. But I'm not throwing it at shit that won't change the braking.
You're better off swapping the rear to disks, swap out the residual pressure valve, and make sure you have the proper master cylinder and pedal travel. Regardless if you put the best of the best pads, rotors and calipers on the truck, with everything upstream being wrong, your brakes will never have the correct feel. Then, if you still feel like it, swap the fronts out.
I have 6 piston fronts, 4 piston rears, and a Sequoia MC. Stops well despite 35s and a heavy ass truck.I have the money too. But I'm not throwing it at shit that won't change the braking.

tubbing? not yet.So you bolted on more weight vs tubing it? No wonder you can't stop.
These yours or are these the potential release version?
Mine. They are nearly ready for a big production run. Made a few revisions so expect good things. They are gonna sell like crazy. They've been so slammed and have work stacked up a mile high. Was down there today picking up the truck for awhile. Was hoping for an open slot and parts delays are screwing with everything. These yours or are these the potential release version?

Then your tires aren't big enough and you're spending money on things you don't need but are adding weight.
I don’t think you understand the full benefits of these. I’ve seen them in person and they seem to be well worth the “added weight”.So you bolted on more weight vs tubing it? No wonder you can't stop.

The stock inner fenders are complete trash and tubbing is only going to be a temporary fix. These replace the entire inner fender with something with more clearance and better structural integrity. Less chance of yours core support completely crumbling, all while adding more clearance to actually use the up travel that was intended with this kit.
I know we all love to make fun of @kasnerd because his truck has never seen the dirt, but JD Fab knows what they are doing.
A cage is SOOO much more work, time and money compared to tubbing the wheel wells. This is honestly something that I think is an awesome product for these 2nd gens. Super simple and easy. Sure there are better options, but that is way further down the rabbit hole in comparison. Not saying there isn't benefit, but with the amount of money he's spending and the excuses he keeps putting up to stay out of dirt, might as well caged the engine and done it right vs bolting on a bunch of shit. Core support will still be an issue eventually.
