I should be out there by this time next week.

I fly in to SoCal tomorrow morning to start all the prep work throughout the weekend. The plan is to take it easy on my truck since it stays in CA and I no longer live there and won't be able to work on it year round.
No more bashing up Chocolate Thunder and pushing people up obstacles with your radiator and core support???

My goal is to be out there around the same time as you if I can pull it off. So far its looking good.

I’ll be out Thursday- sat night.
If you don’t want to pay for the course map you can get it for free on LeadNav forum. That’s what I use I would think the file would work for other programs too

So who's been to KOH before?
I've been to TDS and would never take something I value to that, worried about walking away from our toys to a spectating area. Hows the crowd? Fairly respectful or is it a free for all?

That’s cool. I last year they only gave us the pdf maps to overlay on Avenza or some weird shit.

The crowd is decent. I’ve never had issues with anyone out there. I haven’t heard about stolen rigs out there either. I’d say people are fairly respectful

Very different demographics from the two events.

One has more accordions and trumpets in their music, and the other is more guitar and drums.

One is more green, white, and red flags with an eagle in the middle, and the other is more red, white, and blue flags.

I’m sure you can figure out which event falls into each of those categories.

Less people acting ghetto n shit at KOH. Not being racist at all, but majority of my issues with people in the desert have been from the Mexican crowds. They tend to bring their ghetto hood mentality with them to the desert, whereas white folk don’t do that as often. White folk tend to brush things off, where the ghetto Hispanics like to turn things into a fight.
Same thing with littering. I tend to see them having less pride in their lands when they pull away from an area they were hanging out and just leave a box of empty beer bottles and cans.
Or I see them flying though camp late at night with music stupid loud.

It’s kinda sad, but that’s just been my experience out there.

Yea disrespectful I agree. Stealing shit idk. I know the valley has a ton of tweakers up there especially in the surrounding homes and south towards yucca valley. I dont care about the party mariachi shit, its annoying as fuck and yes they litter like crazy, and if they are indeed from mexico I understand just because that's kinda the MO down there, chicanos have no excuse. Fights I dont care about, I just dont wanna walk back to my utv only to find it gone lol

Never been to either of them but ive been camping with both types and both types left it just like they found it if not cleaner ... true the ghetto mexicans tend to not handle their alcohol well but its a small group that act up. I mean nothing a few pop shots wont clear up

It's cultural. Have you ever been to Mexico? Not tourist Mexico but the rest of the country? Mexicans leave trash in the desert. It's not like the States where that's frowned upon. It's perfectly normal in Mexico.

Lol that's what I'm saying

Real Mexicans dont give a flying fuck because that's how they treat everything down there, especially baja. I haven't been to mainland mexico, but I'd imagine it's similar.
They destroy the place. There are literal piles of trash in the streets and makes all the crying of san Francisco look menial. Its insane. Weve gotten into it with a bunch of groups at dumont because they all do it. 8 dudes, 2 quads (usually banshees), they drink and blast music 24/7, race around camp and when they leave the have a giant pile of trash bags in the middle and play dumb like they no habla and didnt know they had to take it out
