Having that mobility is the beauty of having your camp contained out of your vehicle. Thursday night at turkey claw you see some cool shit, but it is not usually overly crowded. The shit show is on Friday night after the entire course gets opened up. But it can get wild everywhere, especially a few hours after backdoor opens up.

I'll be completely mobile if the kid stays home since I can sleep out of the back of the 4runner. Chances are I'll stick around near you guys. If the kid comes I just won't be partying as much.

Guess I'll start by you two hoodlums and if the traffic, the dust, or the partying gets too much I can always take my happy ass somewhere else.

That's why we're camping far away this time. Not that drinking and a fire won't happen, but last year we were suffocating in dust, the guys right next to us were shooting fireworks all night long, the other guys next to us ran a generator all night long, guys across from us had their tent catch on fire, drunk guys were lawnmower racing past us until like midnight, etc. And that was just the beginning of the week -_- But we were also right in the middle of the shit, so pretty sure anywhere else wouldn't be as bad.

I'm just playing, I don't care what anyone does. I don't even fucking know anyone on this forum lol. I have an 18ft trailer with a toolbox on the tongue that I slept inside of last year, I'm the last person anyone should take advice from or take anything I say to heart haha
:AMEN:

Awesome picture. I usually have the same 10 people or so. They crash out in my trailer and a few sleep in their vehicles. We may have a few extras coming this year because this trip is taking the place of my brother's and a friends bachelor party since they did not care too much for a traditional bachelor party. I thought about finding some of Lucerne's finest and bringing a couple rolls of quarters so they can earn their money.
Oh god. That reminds me of my bachelor party. I went to Big Bear to do some wheeling and we got a cabin. I specifically said I didn't want a stripper. Sure enough they bought TWO strippers. One was some nasty white tweaker chick (She did have a great pair of tits, but the rest of her was disgusting), and the other was some short, fat black chick. They came into the cabin and I was super fucked up, I tried to sneak out but no way my friends let me do that. The tweaker white chick first tried to rip off my shirt and I firmly told her to fuck off, then she proceeded to take off my belt and smack me with it. I stood up and yelled at her and said "if you do that shit again, I'm gonna whoop your ass!" hahaha. She got kinda pissed and stopped dancing on me, but went around to everyone there asking for coke. One of my super drunk and pretty dirty friends tried to fuck her but I thing she wasn't feeling it after I yelled at her. It was terrible, but it's funny now.

Sounds like shit we do on our guys trips haha. but we try to camp away from the crowds to avoid pissing people off.

The first year I went to KOH, the weather was decent (cold but not too windy for the most part), and the dust wasn't completely miserable like last year. We stayed between Turkey Claw and Hammer Town that year. Last year it sucked balls pretty much everywhere Friday - Sunday.

Does the pre order actually provide anything? From the description it sounds like you can't even see the course and don't gain anything from preordering?

Just a hint of hitting the Cougar Buttes area.

Unsure if saving any cost. I think the motivation is the purchase is done, only need enough bandwidth to redownload the map from the lakebed starting 1/31

What type of file is the course map? Is it something that can be imported/exported as a GPX, KML or KMZ file?

I'd really not like to have to download a separate app for the course map if not necessary. @85straight have you already got the pre-sale course map yet?

IMO, it works quite well for locating compared to course and areas.
Ahh that's kinda lame. I don't have any way of adding that as a layer on my GPS app. I guess I will have to download Avenza and use that. Or print it out

I think it's retarded you have to pay for the maps, how the fuck are you supposed to spectate without knowing where the course is? The maps should be pushed out to everyone for free and hand outs at hammertown, etc. to help keep the experience nicer and safer. Fucking $10 just for a one time map is fucking retarded.

I have to imagine the racers will get some sort of gpx/kml/kmz track no? Or do they have to plot it out themselves once the map is released.
