I’m removing my lcas to do bushings, I’ve got the cams apart, but they’re stuck in the bushings. I’ve hammered, heated, hammered more. I’m about to sawzall the bastards since it’s all replaced with the new bushings. Anyone have another trick. Tim’s video shows them just sliding out, mine no fing wayyy!!!

Cut em out if you have new ones. It's not worth the pain.

Also I’m still putting the call out to Tucson that if you’re available this st. Patty’s day, I could sure use a hand reinstalling this diff. Free beer and food for help.

It's not uncommon to cut them off if you have new ones get your cut on.
I am always down to help when I am not elbow deep in wrenching myself. Worked yesterday and need to get the Tacoma out of the garage this week so I can start on my 4runner.
Sometimes a little more lead time before a mod day is needed to free up the schedule to attend. Hope you get everything done without a hitch.

Cutting away. One side off. I know just an impulse thing that gave the momentum. Then I forgot my friends have their parents in town.

I cut the lcas off and burned out the bushings. Now to clean and install new bushings. One bushing took 3 burns and 3000lbs to get out, wow. I measured the lca mounts and arms, doesn’t look like I distorted the arms.

I got the lcas on, I’ll adjust to my match marks. The steering rack is in, hooked up.outer Tie rods on rack but not tighten yet, I have make sure steering is centered. Upper ball joints on spindles and ready to install. I just picked up a cv from napa (only had one in stock) I have another oem cv, so install those. I have to fill and burp ps system then install belt. I have to fill diff and install brakes. Then connect sway bar end links. Install lbjs and connect to tie rods. This reply is more for me, almost done.

Make sure to put a generous amount of anti-seize on everything when you put it all back together to avoid this situation next time.
I put some, but not generous. I bent one of the lca brackets prying on the arm, I bent it back close and figured the cam bolts will get it where it needs to be. Thanks y’all

It finally done, I drove it to the alignment shop and was close to being in spec. Hooray for being finished. I feel like such a bad ass for completing this much car work, like leveling up. I did slip a wrench and put a nasty gash on my nose, badass.

Congrats man. A lot of us here have bled plenty for our rigs. Slips happen. It'll just teach you to keep your face out of the way next time. lol

Y’all might know, I ran out gear oil after 3/4 of quart, I’ve since got more. I had to drive in 2wd only 25-30 miles, y’all think I fucked anything up? I decided to put the diff drop back on. I worry about the needle bearings, but had to drive so it be what it is.

You got 3/4 in the front diff? Probably fine for that stint. I know my front barely takes 1.5 qts or so. It doesn't work as hard in 2wd. Top it off as soon as possible though.

Already done , thanks man. That’s what I was thinking, but only unasked questions are stupid.

You are probably fine. Probably not the best idea, but in 2wd it’s not as much load on the front diff. I’d probably drain a little fluid to check the fluid to make sure all looks good.
