I had both of my ARBs leak through those seals two times each.

I’m just glad that I got my diffs from ECGS. At least they’re willing to just fix it without any hassle.

That said. When I did the 60, there was no way I was going with an ARB. That’s why I did the OX locker.

I was also going to put a Harrop in the front. ECGS was actually willing to swap it out for the leaky ARB gratis. BUT, Chase told me the ARB was stronger. With 37s on the 8” I didn’t want to sacrifice any strength.

I figure I’ll give the redesigned seal a chance. If the ARB leaks again, it’s getting replaced with a Harrop however.

Another bonus to an OX locker, is the drive away lock. http://www.ox-usa.com/lockers/15-amc-20.html

My Wife’s XJ has ARBs that are probably ten years old. Never had any leaking issues.

Luckily my front ARB hasn't leaked yet. Rear is leaking for the second time though

At least it’s the rear. I’m very tired of pulling that front diff...

The rear still sucks balls, but if I never have to pull a front again it'll be too soon. I've done 3 different trucks now and it pisses me off every single time.

Any opinions on sticking a Detroit in the rear of a full-time awd v8 with vsc? My gut tells me the center diff will help with unwanted locking but I'm not sure how the stability control will factor in.

Only asking because it's a DD and I like to go skiing when the roads are shitty.
I don’t think having AWD will really make any noticeable difference like @4runner DOA said. It could help but probably not by much. It’s just a difference in driving style while cornering. No more powering through corners like a race car.

The OX locker actually seems like a pretty awesome setup. I love the idea of being able to manually lock it. That’s how I do my stock elocker. I fucked up the wiring and only manually unlock it when I know I’ll be driving on the road for an extended period of time. Normally I just leave it locked. I think I’d still rather have a Detroit for the rear axle though.

I’ve has mine out four times and helped a buddy swap his. I’m fairly certain I’m not done swapping front diffs...

I had a Lock Right (I forget the cute way they spell it now) in the rear. It was annoying AF on the street. I turn up hill and to the right out of my driveway. No matter how easy I went it would squawk, jump, and protest, every time.

You just sound like a bitch. :flipoff:

I leave mine locked all the time but with 4 link it doesn’t jump much. Going around the roundabouts in town turn some heads though. Before I did the 4-link, I would 3 wheel it around every corner with the rear locked. Now it has a low enough roll axis that it actually feels more stable when locked. Just barely but still noticeable. Wears out bushings in the links though.

Well... I DID drive my Wife’s XJ with pink decals all over it for six months while my truck was apart. Maybe it rubbed off a bit?
