I already notched my frame in the front to clear 35s on 4 inch backspacing and there's still a good amount of room to grow before id be hitting it again, so the frame rub isn't as much of an issue for me. Before the notch, it was bad though, if I was turned and it rubbed the lugs on the tries grabbed hard enough to totally lock up the wheel and it would just slide lol
Pics of this frame notch? First person I've heard actually notch the frame for larger tires haha

I'll grab a few sometime this week. I havent heard of it being done before either but I really didn't want to get new wheels or run spacers and rubbing tires is one of the most annoying things to me

Did some geometry to see how the long wheelbase plays into this.

2nd gen tacos are pretty close in size to a best-gen tundra. In my case breakover is pretty much unchanged at +2" WB on 37s and everything else gets better.

2nd gen tacos are pretty close in size to a best-gen tundra. In my case breakover is pretty much unchanged at +2" WB on 37s and everything else gets better.

So I admit that I am pretty dumb and this could be a dumb question. With the front hub pushed 2" forward any concern on CV angles?
Could very well be an issue, but with the extra width that will help bring the angles back a little closer to stock by a tiny bit. The inners are typically like 30* max angle on high angle inner CV's. With that 2" forward that could limit the travel a little on both inners and outers. Probably not a huge concern since the extra width helps offset it the issue.

Just my opinion on that.

This is a view looking straight at the brake rotor. I assumed an axle of 19" in length with a 30* max angle. Full range of motion in the center would be 19" if the axle is centered perfectly. The circle is a sketch of your full range of motion. Offset that by 2" I lost about 1/2" of usable travel.
Then you add in all your other factors like upper arms and steering limitation.

Fine. I'll start over again, lol.
Here the geometry of my pile. 10" coilover 5.5" over kit. This is a view from the front of the truck. Full bump and full droop. Depends on how much camber I allow to have. My kit is pushed forward 1.25" I have conservative geometry to keep my steering rack alive longer.

So that is assuming keeping the stock width, or with +2" wider too?
