Cool, I'm liking the idea of starting Thursday after Matt gets up there and getting some miles in before we set up camp, hopefully we'll get far enough ahead we don't see any of the groups friday/Saturday. Just the jeep club that will be coming the opposite way

Andy, are you guys planning on taking 395 up or coming in from the 5? If you guys take 395 we can all travel up together once you hit Mammoth. I'll leave work whenever you two get into town.

I was going to take the 395. Way more scenic, less traffic, and on the off chance I put on tube doors it'll cool off once I get to mono lake.

Sweet. Just plan on swinging by Mammoth. We'll all head up at the same time. It looks like about 4 hours from Mammoth to the trailhead.

I'm looking at the california 4wheel book and according to this, the rubicon only has about 12 miles of technical crawling. Depending on how far we get on thursday we might finish on Friday.

If we do we can always hit Niagara Rim on the way home. Or anything else that you guys know of.

The higher peaks will have snow well into August this year. End of June is when they normally melt out. It was a huge February.

pretty nice to see especially with how bad it was last year. Was surprised to see a few streams still going in Idyllwild last weekend.
