Milestar Patagonia M/T - Anyone running these? Great reviews at a low price point.

Little bit of a review for these tires since I've had them for about 6k now. Tire noise has increased a decent amount, to the point where i get a vibration from 65-72mph and its quite annoying. Other than that, they grip better than all terrains, even on the road it seems because of the softer tread. I like them on the rocks as well. (Did Rubicon on open diffs with rear locker engaged for maybe 60 seconds the whole way)

all of that sounds like a soft compound tire to me. (fantastic)

Interesting. I haven't noticed a change in noise at highway speed, but they shake and rumble at 2mph.

So, I made a call and bought a smaller tire 265/70r17 (back off) until I could get to a couple of other upgrades. We do what we can afford when we can do it... and my existing tires were crap. So, very little driving was being done. And, I have to say that these tires COMPLETELY filled the available space - there is less than a 0.25 of clearance between the UCA and the tire at full droop. If they made a 265/75 or 275/70 (though I suspect that wouldn't have fit) I would have been all over those.

I have a Bilstein 6112/5100 lift (which worked out to be just under 3", sag yet to come) with OE UCA, OE (2014 FJ rims) and no spacers.

If I did add spacers I could have gone to a 285/70r17 with some minor tweaking, but after debating this for three weeks I was fucking tired of thinking about the "what ifs" and the additional time I would have to spend making room for the larger tire and not driving... and Uwahrrie is calling. It's capable enough and in time it will be upgraded (as everyone does) for $600 in tires its not like I am breaking the bank. It will work, I will understand how Milestar functions and now I get how the production geometry compares to the calculated geometry. Picture later.

I'd kill to find a decent tire in 35x11.5x17. My PBR's are are very true 12.5 and they rub my frame just slightly at full lock and stuff. Hell, if I could find a 37x11x17 I'd make the jump tomorrow. I'd have to throw on a 1/2" body lift. Yep, @eimkeith , I just said body lift. lol

Interco makes 37x11s in one TSL Swamper or another.

First, I now have a few thousand miles on these Milestars (80/20 highway/off-road) and I love them. As others have mentioned for a mud-terrain they are super quiet and the tacky traction is remarkable. In the SE, we have a bit more wet, and though they can struggle just a tiny little on wet smooth pavement and rock, they still do better than I would expect.

In retro my only real regret (but I was too invested at the time) was not staying with the 16" rim size. I needed new rims, because I had some corrosion bleed, but I would would have now replaced them with the same 16" rim size if I had really thought more about it — not just for appearance, but the extra sidewall height.

Most likely what I will end up doing, just trying to figure out if I want to re-gear first or go 35s first. Obviously going 35s is cheaper. I cannot do both at the same time. I would also need new wheels or .75-1" spacers to get the backspacing I need.

regearing is only about 600 bucks if you know how to setup your own gears and have access to a press!

quality 5.29s 600 bucks even

Well had a set delivered yesterday for the taco. Will see how they work out. But for 143 shipped. It's really going to be difficult to complain too much. Seem lighter than the toyos for sure.

Sweet. I've been curious about them in the rocks for a while. For that price as long as they hold air you've done well. lol

Yeah we will see. Most these will see is very mild trail breaking over rocks and some downed trees and mainly just forest roads for now.(wifes truck on a 6" db) I still wheel it a bit but the runner is for that. I will report back on wear and noise.
