I watched them take one up the qualifying course during KOH. I was kind of impressed with how it did on the rock portion. Granted it wasn't for qualifying, but I watched some 4600 rigs struggle on it and the bronco walked right up.
That wheel base and track width on 35s should be killer.

Badlands w/Sasquatch. Love the idea of wash out vinyl floors. Did opt for the heated leather seats though.
Modular hard top. Remote start.Front and rear selectable lockers and sway bar disconnect has me giddy.
Will be wheeling it within 48 hours of delivery

Shit. That just might make me drive my beater back East. Any good wheeling you don't have to pay for and that doesn't include mandatory mud?

I got a deposit on a first edition. No way I’m paying 57k on something I’m gona thrash in the desert. Let me go find a 3rd gen 4Runner with a dented quarter panel and call it a day
52k for mine and I will certainly get it dirty asap

Except fucking Ford problems
We'll see how it goes. Toyota has their own issues, and they are not very innovative on anything. Especially in the past decade. Tundra has been the same damn thing for 15 years with mild facelifts. 4Runner has been the same thing for 12 years with almost no improvements. Tacoma has barely made any progress (if you want to even call it progress) over the last generation... At least Ford is doing something new and making big steps to make a vehicle people actually want.

There’s a reason why you see so many old Toyotas still on the road daily: the shit just works. New bells and whistles are new problems waiting to emerge.

That’s what has bugged me the most since the Raptor came out. If Toyota had made a legitimate factory long travel with decent power (Tacoma or Tundra), maybe we’d be discussing a Toyota version of the Bronco by now. If the new Bronco had a Toyota drive train I might actually consider buying a new vehicle for once. Imagine a smaller version of the 5th gen 4Runner with factory V8 or turbo’d 6 cylinder and a killer suspension and locker option. Not to mention a more wheel-able approach and departure angle. It would be pretty sick. I only like old reliable Toyotas for the time being.

The 2nd gen was already too fat for the v6, suspension and frame when it came out, and the 3rd gen makes that worse.
