Hello all, first time posting and I promise I've used ever search bar I know, Google, even yahoo just in case.
99 4wd 4 runner
New parts :
3in Billy shock and eibach spring
1in diff. Drop brackets
Reman oem rack, energy bushing
Energy lca bushing
Oem lbjs, tie rods
Spc uca

Ive played hell trying to get this thing going straight. Sometimes it will drive perfect, others its stiff as a covered wagon. My alignment guy says it tries to toe in once going down the Rd. But when we put it on the plates it comes out perfect. He has it an 1/8 in toe out atm. Any help is appreciated.

Obvious question, have you changed out inner and outer tie rods? If there's any play whatsoever, you can set your toe until you're blue in the face, but it'll never track correctly because bad rod ends will have slop and cause them to move around while you're driving.

Yeah everything is brand new. Absolution 0 play in the wheel when jacked off the ground. I'm thinking ether the rag joint or u joint in the steering shaft. Sometimes it drives prefect, it's like different roads throw the alignment off. He said it was toeing in when you hit the brakes with the old rack.

Sounds like everything possible has been replaced already. Does it pull any direction when you hit the brakes or throttle?

You can check the guide on the rack to see if it’s loose. Should come set at the right settings. Too loose and there will be play, and too tight and the steering will be stiff. Could also be the rag joint like you said. Is there any play in the steering at all?

Another thing it could be if everything feels tight, the alignment of the rack can be off a little. If the rack isn’t centered when the wheels are straight then it will ride like shit and steer weird. (Bump steer)

It pulls left on hard breaking, not really any play in the steering wheel. It's sketchy AF though. On the way home today it was horrible until the last 5 miles home. Then it drove like a dream. Rag joint is the rubber piece above the rack correct?

Sounds like either your bushings are worn out or the cams/cam tabs are fucked up. You said your bushings we’re replaced with Energy bushings, so I’m betting on the alignment cam tabs being bent. Could just be them moving from not being tight enough. Hit it with some paint marker on each cam to see if the alignment settings move at all.

I'll try anything at this point but the tabs looked good and I put spc cams and bolts in recently. Haha I feel like I've done everything and my alignment guy says I did it all right with good stuff. It's killing me.

Definitely check to make sure your rack is centered when the wheels are straight. That’s the easiest and most likely option.

After finding out the bottom nut on the c clamp on the rack was striped of threads I gotta new one on it. Alignment checked out to be set at 1/8 in toe out like he set it. I greased the piss or if the spc's. It is intermittent. Sometimes it drives perfectly, then if you make a sharp turn its like it toes everything in and binds everything up.

But I did fill in my good ornament and her the old cobra and PA installed. At least I can warn everyone when it starts bucking and squalling tires down the road.

We were driving home today and I legit felt the front of the truck settle down to ride height while cruising at 55. Blows my mind... It's like a after I turn it doesn't wanna settle all the way back down to "ride height"
