Hehe. No strawberries here. What's up Randy. Glad you finally made it.
Thanks Danny!!! I like the site. Same/similar layout.

HAHAHAHA, I like how everyone I'm used to seeing "over there" has the same/similar screen name. Makes it easy! HAHAHAHA :rofl::rofl:

So, here's a more formal introduction of me to all that don't already know:
name: Randy
truck: 1st Gen Reg Cab auto 4WD that is in a constant state of upgrades/mods... money is a HUGE factor for the moment though...
trail types: easy/moderate only as I'm not really into the rock crawling stuff, but just simply more outdoors/exploring
interests: other than going on trails, metal detecting, radios, shooting (when I can), astronomy, coin collecting (gotta get back into that one), as well as others I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting at the moment.

I believe SOME of you are going up towards Bishop area? You GOTTA do this trail. It's a fun trail, not TOO hard, but there are definitely some sketchy parts on the trail... especially near the "Ghost Town".

Yep, Cerro Gordo is on the list for our first day, with a lot less snow hopefully though. We'll be dropping down the back side into Saline Valley via White Mountain Talc Rd. Not sure which way you went back down.

Looks like a fun trail. I'll have to get up there one of these days and check it out.

Saline Valley? Ever go to the hot springs out there? I've been invited with some friends to go out there a few times but just never made it out for whatever reason. This seems like a great time of year to soak and booze.

Haven't made the run to the hot springs because I usually have the kid with me and it's not exactly a pg rated area. @MonkeyProof goes regularly, you could probably make a run out with him some time, hahah. Think he's actually going to be there next week while we're out there so will be interesting if we run into him. You definitely need to come out to DV though. There's only so many "hard" spots, but it's a lot of fun to explore out there.

I definitely need to plan a trip out there. Sounds like a awesome place to explore. I love doing exploring as much as I love go-fast or rock crawling. It's even better when you can mix it all into one trip (which sounds like you get a little bit of all of that).

Besides this time of year, when are the best times to go? Summer is too hot obviously, but is winter too cold to enjoy it?

Not gonna lie, it's gonna be fucking cold next week, hahah. @Mike_taco4x4 and I enjoyed shorts and t-shirt weather last year though, so it's hit and miss year to year. October should be good, Mid March to early April is probably about perfect. May - Sept is pretty much hot. Dec-Feb will likely be pretty cold.

Hey guys,
I owned my 1998 Toyota T4R since 06/2017. It's E-Locked w/ 273k miles. Im located in Palmdale CA

Mods:
Full maintenance, timing belt, valve cover gaskets, plugs, water pump, all oils replaced, all bushings replaced as well, new ball joints, steering rack, alternator. It was really bad. PO had the nerve to say he wouldn't hesitate to drive to Vegas and back in it on the bald tires he sold it to me with.

Bilstein 5100s 883/891 with FJ wheels 265/70/17 nittos.
SPC control arms
Toytec Diff Drop
BTF end links
Plastic Guys Bump Stops and Diff Bushings
Spidertrax spacers
Outgearsolutions roof rack
Black Widow exhaust
Clear Depo lights
01-02 taillights
Overhead console mod
Rear compartment mod
TBU upgrade as of 11/10/18 w/ fresh brake fluid and new toytec brake lines
Supercharged as of October
Future Mods for December: (Ordered)
URD 7th Injector kit
5.29 gears. (hoping to go 35s early next year)
1" body lift (unless I tub the cab)
- Im sure Ive left a few mods out.

Wheeling? whats that? Mall Crawling 4 life Haha, Honestly, I want to wheel and overland with my runner (reason why i bought it) but I really want to have it running and riding really well, reason why i haven't gone out with any groups. I need to get over the fear or being stranded or something breaking on me.

I enjoy driving this thing a lot.

Might as well lock the front if you're going to do gears. Get yourself some skids and sliders and you'll be good to do a lot of trails and handle a lot of exploring.

Come wheel with us a bit. One of us breaks something every trip. Usually multiple things. If we didn't break something it means we where all hung over and never left camp that day. Lol

I like all kinds of off-roading but mostly high speed jumping/drifting and big hill climbs. Also enjoy rock crawling and mudding and pretty much anything else.
Destroyed the factory engine mount perches currently down until I weld in some dmz fab ones with fail gear bombproof mounts.

Sounds like you’ll fit right in here with the fun wheeling and lots of breakage.

Where are you located?
