Who’s setting up NorCal trips? Fresno isn’t too far and @xplore.offroad is here plenty. Homie snores so loud.

No one, you guys are our first Northern (central) California active users, haha. We're kinda spread all over, but the majority are Southern California and Arizona. Slowly but surely we're branching out in the other directions. Forum has only been live since October and aside from IG we aren't actively promoting or recruiting. Helps keep the Overlanders at bay.

Fresno -> Sacramento is 3hrs

I think it Central CA deserves its own section IMO. We've got tons of offroading right up the mountains from us.

Just to name a few.

If you looked around, you may find there's a Central section now ;)

I'm Jim Bob, been checking out the IG and what not and dig what you guys are doing on here.

- 2014 Tacoma OR - TC +2 race, 12" 2.5 Kings w/ IBP and hydros in the rear, triple bypasses going in up front, locked front and rear, 37" BFG KM3's going on soon (so 36's) plus all the standard crap most of us have haha.
- Santa Barbara CA
- I like a good mix of everything, done some decently hard trails but also like going fast out in the desert and camping so usually keep it pretty middle ground in all of those things I guess.

Nice! Glad you made it over!

So you are gonna have to show us how you fit those 37's (err 36's :p). We are thinking it's time for @Hank to make the move to 37's soon, since we did some extensive cutting to leave plenty of room to clear 35's with the intent on going 37's down the line.
Any pics of the clearancing?

I haven't clearanced for them all the way yet, I will end up "massaging" or cutting under the washer fluid reservoir and battery a bit. I could do bump stop spacers but it seems dumb to limit bump travel, so far the tires seem to be about 1/2" to 3/4" ish bigger than my falken 35's (and also lighter). IMO these will be a great option for people who want a bigger tire but they aren't a true 37 by any means, I've talked to Tetten in length about all this and he cleared a lot but also will have a real 37. I've removed the shocks and done full bump lock to lock testing and it doesn't hit anywhere except my front bumper but with deflection/dynamic loading/real world wheeling it's gonna hit.

Well with LT I have like 6 degrees caster which really helps in the firewall department and yea my cab mount is boxed. My buddy that had a mid travel tacoma on 37 MTR's had to relocate his cab mount and tub the shit out of his firewall. Here's a pic with my firewall and the 37's at full bump and full lock:

It's probably gonna hit and rub for sure so we'll see where I go with that.

I keep forgetting you have LT. That makes a hell of a difference then.

So uh, hi my name is Graham, I'm a dirtaholic.

Danny asked me to come here and see what things are like. I have a longer history on bikes than I do offroading, although I haven't been regularly on my sportbikes for a couple of years now.

3 years ago in June my fiancé and I bought a 1995 Isuzu Rodeo after her 1996 Corolla was written off. It had 150,000km on it and was in flawless condition. My only gripe was it had an automatic. I had always been a fullsize kinda guy, but the Rodeo fit her criteria. less than 3,000 bucks, automatic, suv, less than 200,000km.

Since then it has been a fantastic vehicle. We go trail riding with it regularly, nothing too serious as it is bone ass stock right now. It's capable enough, Isuzu kitted them out fairly well from factory. Ours has the locker setup and 4.30 gears. but with it being our only vehicle right now we aren't prepared to break it constantly.

Not happy with the 3.2L v6 fuel economy, I took a look into it and found that Isuzu made a potent little diesel for the non North American Rodeos. I'm finally done trade school and she is done university in a couple of months, so we're hoping to get cracking on that soon. It'd be nice to find a 4jb1t engine and driveline in Canada, but that seems fucking impossible, so we'll likely have to cowboy up to ship one from the states. yikes.

And in June of last year I purchased a front D44 from an old jeep Cherokee for 100 bucks. complete hub to hub with springs and bracketry, but in need of a full rebuild. We've currently got it cut down and gutted in anticipation of a solid axle swap. It'd be going faster but the donor vehicle we are mocking the solid axle up in is. . .well. . . kinda trapped in a buddy's back 40 under 4 feet of snow. And I'm not buying a bunch of diff parts before we have the axle at least mounted in the donor vehicle to see how it'll work out.
It'll be my second axle swap, I previously took my 95 Dodge and got fed up with the front end, so I bought an axle from a 93 dodge diesel and turfed the coil setup for a leaf setup with the passenger drop diff. Made up the steering and ran a 205 behind the NV4500 (which I swapped in when I bought the truck cause it had a blown automatic).
Yeah, I love leaf springs. Come at me bro.

So yeah, that's my intro. No pictures for now. It's just a stock silver Rodeo guys, nothing too interesting.
Our offroad toys are more interesting. she got rid of her 125r and I got rid of my 450.
Somehow she ended up with a Raptor 700r and I ended up with a newer 125r. How the hell did that happen? (answer: valentines day, and I was at the end of what that 450 would do through the forest here. I needed something slower. And I mean, I love her. so, easy choice to trade the 450 for a raptor for her).
PS: she's more into this shit than I am. She wants to get another 96 corolla, weld in a celica floorpan and run an AWD celica driveline because RALIKAR.

Still disappointed I don’t have any pictures to look at... :flipoff:
