So uh, hi my name is Graham, I'm a dirtaholic.

Danny asked me to come here and see what things are like. I have a longer history on bikes than I do offroading, although I haven't been regularly on my sportbikes for a couple of years now.

3 years ago in June my fiancé and I bought a 1995 Isuzu Rodeo after her 1996 Corolla was written off. It had 150,000km on it and was in flawless condition. My only gripe was it had an automatic. I had always been a fullsize kinda guy, but the Rodeo fit her criteria. less than 3,000 bucks, automatic, suv, less than 200,000km.

Since then it has been a fantastic vehicle. We go trail riding with it regularly, nothing too serious as it is bone ass stock right now. It's capable enough, Isuzu kitted them out fairly well from factory. Ours has the locker setup and 4.30 gears. but with it being our only vehicle right now we aren't prepared to break it constantly.

Not happy with the 3.2L v6 fuel economy, I took a look into it and found that Isuzu made a potent little diesel for the non North American Rodeos. I'm finally done trade school and she is done university in a couple of months, so we're hoping to get cracking on that soon. It'd be nice to find a 4jb1t engine and driveline in Canada, but that seems fucking impossible, so we'll likely have to cowboy up to ship one from the states. yikes.

And in June of last year I purchased a front D44 from an old jeep Cherokee for 100 bucks. complete hub to hub with springs and bracketry, but in need of a full rebuild. We've currently got it cut down and gutted in anticipation of a solid axle swap. It'd be going faster but the donor vehicle we are mocking the solid axle up in is. . .well. . . kinda trapped in a buddy's back 40 under 4 feet of snow. And I'm not buying a bunch of diff parts before we have the axle at least mounted in the donor vehicle to see how it'll work out.
It'll be my second axle swap, I previously took my 95 Dodge and got fed up with the front end, so I bought an axle from a 93 dodge diesel and turfed the coil setup for a leaf setup with the passenger drop diff. Made up the steering and ran a 205 behind the NV4500 (which I swapped in when I bought the truck cause it had a blown automatic).
Yeah, I love leaf springs. Come at me bro.

So yeah, that's my intro. No pictures for now. It's just a stock silver Rodeo guys, nothing too interesting.
Our offroad toys are more interesting. she got rid of her 125r and I got rid of my 450.
Somehow she ended up with a Raptor 700r and I ended up with a newer 125r. How the hell did that happen? (answer: valentines day, and I was at the end of what that 450 would do through the forest here. I needed something slower. And I mean, I love her. so, easy choice to trade the 450 for a raptor for her).
PS: she's more into this shit than I am. She wants to get another 96 corolla, weld in a celica floorpan and run an AWD celica driveline because RALIKAR.
HAHAHAHA, I forgot to say "Welcome". I'm SO BAD with welcoming???!!!:deadbanana::noidea:

Maybe I'll take some today in the Walmart parking lot. It suits the "build" thus far. XD

Hey now. There's not a single picture of my rig at the mall. @Itaro and @lord helmet missed that opportunity when we went to lunch awhile back after a failed snow trip. Hahaha

Besides that fact, we don't discriminate. Overlanders are "welcome" as long as they arent asking stupid basic questions. I like the occasional fireroad myself, mostly because I can open it up to 50-80. Hahaha

Waiting for my tax return to happen. Going to finally buy my +$250 wheels... ALL 4x wheels that is... HAHAHAHA

So Danny, I'll finally have my 31's on and ready for White Mountain or Red. I just don't have any sliders though.

Neither one require sliders. God knows what the trails are gonna look like after all this snow and rain. Haven't been to red in almost 3 years, I think we're gonna have to make that a trip soon. Have to see if I can get the palm springs condo for memorial weekend.

Red would be pretty cool to do for sure. I still remember that one pic of your friend's rig riding a "step-up" with a little bit of a "rooster tail" in the back... if I remember right.

Anyways, it sounded like you guys had fun on that trip? So yeah, either WM or Red would definitely be pretty damn cool to do... FINALLLLLY!!!

White Mtn Rd is under about 10 feet of snow right now. It's been an epic February and the Whites are covered down to about 6500' which hardly ever happens. I went up Silver Canyon Saturday to have a look. There's a gate that's always closed in winter at the start of the switchbacks. This year it's open. So I went up. I made it another 1/2 mile before I hit a NW facing switchback that had about 20" of snow. Not even the front locker could get my through with how steep it is there. It's gonna be a very late start to the wheeling season in the Whites.

There's a trail in big Bear called white mountain. Totally different than yours. Hahaha. Fun road all the same. 4wd required because of the steep loose sections. I'm betting it's a little rockier this summer than normal. Probably gonna be rutted out pretty bad too.

Haha. Lemme know. I've got some stuff planned out the next couple days but it's nothing I can't shuffle around.

Yo!

- 2015 TRD OR Tacoma, equipped for wandering the deserts and as a mountain biking base camp.
- I wander all around the country, but primarily Delaware for work and Utah for play
- What type of wheeling you like to do - mostly venturing up fireroads and mild tracks and across BLM land to find secluded spots to camp and ride.
