Another FNG....found this place via googling DIY long travel so there's that lol. wifey has the aMaZiNg minivan known as a 5th gen 4runner (usual broverland mods of course, it honestly rides wicked nice for fire roads). My f250 is icon leveling kit and some carli stuff, fun work truck. The real reason i found this place was for turning my 2001 f150 into a fun project truck...Tow it out to the desert, smash the shit outta it, tow it back, re weld my mediocre welds, repeat. Anyone selling a DIY IFS long travel kit and some deavers? Another phoenix guy also. I recognize a few of you from tundra forums when i used to lurk there for zero reason other than boredom. this place seems dope btw.

this place is alright.
Although there’s more faggots here than a gay pride rally in Palm Springs.

Hey, welcome. FNG as well. Traded in my Ram 1500 Outdoorsman for my minivan... errr... 5G 4Runner. Was planning to make off-road improvements to it, but then the ‘11s started developing a trend of sticking lifters and eating cams. Pondering the options of keeping it and being ready for a $4000 repair or $5000 engine replacement (neither of which I was opposed to; love that truck), I opted to trade it in for the Toyota while it still had good value. And here I am.

I don’t care to trash my ride as much as some of the serious off-road enthusiasts here do, but I’m looking forward to going off road and getting dirty. One thing I’ve never done. Also cheaper than fixing airplanes, my other hobby.

I was gonna ask you before, why’d you get rid of the 1500?

@honda250xtitan welcome! IFS, it's the best off road shit show on the internet. It's a safe space to say what you want, cry about off topic subjects and get the best supportive flogging and jeering one could ask for!! Just ask @Slim-Whitey. :beathorse:
Definitely sounds like my type of place. I lurked around for like 3 hours last night . Maybe I should post this in the “flame my ride” thread

Sounds like you're looking to have more fun than the average person, so you're good. While we're mostly Toyota guys here, this forum isn't Toyota exclusive, and there's plenty of knowledge to help you get stupid off road.

I’m here to learn, post pics of eventual long travel kit, and ask why and how. Gay parade jokes and general tom foolery make it even better.
The mommy mobile. And trailer I built. Onboard water. Fancy rancho shocks lmao, and stupid leds I never use. I’m thankful for whoever mentioned the +2 kit in another thread. Gonna not bother with that and go with secondaries on stock width control arms eventually.

The 2011s started to develop a reputation for eating cams. Also looking for something enclosed that allowed more room inside for the doggos. Considered larger SUV types, but they’re stupid expensive. So I went with the Runner. So far, so good. But I may miss it to the point of wanting another.
