I haven't been to too many NC beaches (grew up coastal SC, usually go home for beach camping). Can't you drive on the beach here? That's pretty interesting to me.

You can in a few places. Freeman Park (it was way cooler when it was still just the "north end") and Fort Fisher in the Wilmington area, I think parts of Topsail in the off season, and most of the islands north of Morehead City.

(I live in KY but grew up near Wilmington)

That sucks. Last time I was out there it was like a parking lot. When I was in high school we used to cut class and go play out there for hours and only see a few people.

Okay, finding places to go offroad in this area sucks. In college (UTK) I used to just drive into the mountains and take whatever roads I could wherever it would take me, park it, hike and camp - didn't think much about if I could/should go where I was headed. Was shot at a couple of times, but WTF. Now... almost all OHV usage is ATV and motorcycle only. You can still skirt down most fireroad (even ones your are not supposed to), but they are only marginally fun (nice to be outdoors, but not extensively challenging).

In part this is a gripe and in part this is a plea, for the sticky post at the top of this portion of the forum. If you know of a place to ride, make a note.

Riding out west is different I can see why so many people do it there vs here. I have been in some interesting places all along the west coast through Canada and Alaska, but on my home turf... pretty limited.

Yeah you're kinda limited to Uwharrie or ...Uwharrie. Or trespassing, but that's not a good idea.

Sort of unrelated, but I'll be at Uwharrie the second weekend in November if anyone else is around.

Alright… I have no tranny tools (jack mainly) so anyone in the CLT area have a preferred transmission shop? I may have a bad unit. Just started slipping when cold - oddly more pronounced when the AC is on.

Hey everyone, I'm over in Durham, NC. I've definitely spoken to @eimkeith over instagram before. Sold my crawler recently and got a 5th gen T4R and stumbled on this site.
Welcome to the shit show but, don’t stay down after you stumble around here. Some of these tards will consider that as an invite to snuggle.
