anyone ever run paddle tires on their rig? My neighbor goes to Glamis often and suggested paddles in the rear. His buddy said he used to run paddles on his Jeep out there and would sell them to me. I figured I’d see what others have had experience with in the deep sand and big dunes. I don’t have enough power in 4-hi and not enough top end speed for 4-low to work out there in the deep stuff.

So will paddles be a decent idea?

Stick to the main trials and you’ll be good

I’ve played around a little in Glamis a couple years ago but there was no way I would be able to do much out there. I figured if I got a set of cheap paddles, I might have better luck out there with 33” paddles and 5.29 gears

I’m going out there next weekend and roll round in 2wd only use for low when I go up olds but idk if I will make it anymore haha stock tires I’d go up olds easy then put 31s and she struggled but made it and I’m at 33s now with stock gears, but I usually stick to the sand highway and the little trail the gets created to get to olds

I never tried to go up olds. No way I had the power. I was on 33’s and stock gears. Most of the stuff I did I was able to do in 2wd locked. I tried to do some 4wd stuff but either didn’t have the power or didn’t have the top end to keep momentum.
I’d think it would be cool to get some small paddles and rip around in 2wd and use 4wd when needed.

I might! If I see that guy this weekend, I’ll ask what he really wants for them. He doesn’t have any need for them, so I may be able to get them for a deal. I’d just need to get some lug conversions or new wheels for them. They are 15” rim and 33” tire I think. Not sure the width.
