So to start out, this happened:

This was two weeks before the planned Tacoma meet at AOAA, two Fridays from then. I'd been looking forward to it for months and had already taken the week off of it (mainly because I had to burn a week or lose it!)

This happened a week later:

I brought this home on a Friday around 7pm. I had the following week off.
Monday brought me on the horn with Marie @ Headstrong Offroad asking her how fast she could get me a suspension. The cost to air freight the leaf springs was prohibitive, but I found them on Amazon with a guaranteed Thursday delivery. Marie gets my suspension (plus brake lines) in the air that day for Wednesday delivery. JBA Offroad is like 80 miles from me so they UPS Grounded the UCAs to me and I also had them on Wednesday.

Next I needed armor. Mobtown Offroad is the only fab shop on this side of the country, so I begged a favor. Joe burned me together a set of their bolt-on sliders, I believe they had all the skids in stock, and got them on a pallet to be delivered on Thursday.

My deliveries Wednesday! 255/85r16 Dick Cepek Extreme Countries.

Driver side done!

Passenger side done!

Not pictured: Cussing at those stupid goddamned clips that hold the rear brake lines in place.
Thursday: I ran into Milton to a YRC Freight terminal with only the front suspension done. It had a bit of a bro thing going on.

I didn't take any pics of the rear because I was starting to get stressed out by time. Post lift, pre armor (since you can see the armor laying around drying).

Armor on. Appointment for tires and alignment Friday AM.

Done. Fuckin made it.

Now with bumper and winch! She's a heavy bitch but I'm more worried about deer as it's a DD at the moment.

Whats the story with the 2nd gen? did you loose control on the road?

It was a dirt road as you can see, what you really can't see is the fairly steep ditch off the side of it. What happened was I was hauling a load of firewood when a minivan decided not to share as much of the road as I did. I ended up in that ditch.. which would have been fine. What wasn't fine was the 6' deep drainage culvert 30' in front of me which I bounced through at around 40mph.

If I'd have had an empty bed they wouldn't have totaled it, but the damage to the back of the cab and the bed pushed it way over.

i thought it was just loose asphalt on the side of road, they do that out here to keep people from getting stuck in the sand when they pull off the road. pisses me off when i cross paths with people who do that, I'm sure that drainage was a hell of a surprise too.
