So I've never done this forum thing before but I'm gonna give it a shot.

I'm wanting to build my rear cargo storage and I need some ideas.

Cargo only? Do you need your back seats? A lot of guys do a simple 2 drawer setup if it's only the cargo area. Build it around mounting points that already exist. Not sure how many guys here are running drawers honestly. I've got the fridge on one side and throw a tub on the other side but Ive always wanted a stacked drawer setup next to the fridge for cooking gear and spare parts.

Yeah just the cargo area I need my backseat for my kid and the runner is my dd still, but yeah I like the 2 draw system but I've seen people also add like a slide out table to the side. I was hoping people had some pics of there's that had more than just draws

Yeah the slide out tables are cool. I love my fridge being on a slide. I'd start by taking measurements of the cargo area and putting it down on paper. Then it's just a matter of finding slides and building it. I've got a wood base in the back that I planned on building the drawers up on but I'm not sure what I'm gonna do now.

I've always debated building drawers too. It would be nice to be able to have all my tools and spare parts easily accessible, even when fully loaded down. I just haven't decided how I want to do it yet, since I'd like to eventually move the battery back there, and maybe get a fridge, so all that would need to be incorporated into it.

Exactly I just need some ideas. I like the power outlets in the video and the spot for the cooler maybe one day a fridge. I just wanna build it once and be done not see something I wish I would have incorporated 2 months down the road

I think there will always be something you wish you had done since most people’s builds are always changing. What I wanted two years ago is hardly what I want now. I’d say build what fits your needs now and if you feel the need to modify it down the road, it won’t be too hard.
Don’t do what I’ve done and never get around to doing it because you are constantly overthinking it

Darn it put two pictures up. This is mine. I didn’t use slides, just wax and clearance, nothing to break. I’m planning on making the taller one level. I can recommend some good guidelines for a build. First use 3/4 for the top and sides. Get your plywood from a lumber/cabinet place, the have a damaged section with awesome deals and wayyyy better stuff than hd/lowes. Use 1/2 or 3/8 for the bottom and drawers. Tight bond glue and crown staples ensure long life. Rabbits aren’t necessary, but will be stronger. The reasons I don’t recommend slides are cost, reliability, width of drawers are smaller with slides, costs and the fact that I can remove the drawers easily. Let me know if you need more info or pictures

I like the idea of it using slides. I don’t need it to be smooth as butter, just smooth enough to open and close easily. I’m trying to convince my dad to make one for his Jeep, then have him help me with mine after since he is way better at wood working than I am.

Or I can do that! I’ll have to let you know when I’m ready. I’m gonna relocate the battery to the rear first, so it can be built in to the boxes. Gotta take the time and money to actually do it too.
So many projects on my list that seems to never get done.
