Out of curiosity what setup did you go with? length of shock? Spring rate? Etc... also those reservoirs got live valves?
Fox Factory 2.5 DSC (Performance Elite) series.Out of curiosity what setup did you go with? length of shock? Spring rate? Etc... also those reservoirs got live valves?
Agreed!6" stroke up front
Custom Valve Tune
550lb Springs (I have strong opinions that 90% of the off-shelf setups are (over-sprung).
*Most kits come with 600lb springs.
Honestly not sure why, but I can tell you that it isn't always the shock manufacturer's fault; who knows!Agreed!

1: This isn't an off the shelf shock, but you can shoot me a message if you want more details.
1: I've gotten to know FOX pretty well and could tell they weren't off the shelf which is what prompted my question. Good for you for doing it that way.2: 6" stroke up front

That’s at least a 5 HP mod.Just a young truck, but an idle that isn't as smooth as it could be. For the price, the peace of mind in replacing a few gaskets is worth it.
A lick of high temp paint, clear, and call it good.

Very nice. Good on you not just scraping the truck. Damn shame someone put the incorrect oil in there and ruined a crank that would have lasted 300k miles.I managed to fixture the crank and gauge everything on the lathe.
Runout is between .00056" and .00011"; its friggin str8.
Checked the Main Journals and Rod Journals with a micrometer and everything measured well below Toyota's factory upper spec limit and almost nominal to the median.

That was kind of fun. Going to closely inspect and deburr anything that looks suspect with respect to the parting lines from the manufacturing process.

Co-worker to sanity check and have two sets of data points on this.

Thanks, really trying to keep my spirits high here. New owner comes soon to collect the landcruiser, so this is time sensitive. I think the incorrect oil in there was to mask a starvation issue due to a leaky oil pan, which I suspect ultimately caused the crank to spin a bearingVery nice.
