Why?

It’s cold, it makes work suck, going outside physically painful, playing outside suck, jumping into a cold vehicle, shitty driving conditions, overall it sucks ass.

Like once every 5 years there’s a badass snow day.
Winter is my favorite time of year, no bugs, no dust and no humans on the mountain.
Oh and

No kidding man. Great work. I was making myself a rum and coke when my daughter said. "you are a legend dad". I said what? Then she shows me that can. I started laughing and though. @Rapier46 IFS"s resident Canadian legend. Thought you'd get a kick out of it.

Your first mount looked fine and was easily reinforceable if you don't like the leverage of it.
What was the issue with it?

Wait. What if I mount the shock outside the frame on top of the axle... same angles. But with a little hoop off the frame for the top mount..

Benefits-
Spare tire more forward 4”
even more damping from shock

Downsides
A bit less travel for the length of the shock

outboard, and longer shock. :)

Was just going to say our board them with a hoop or tower. I like the rear tire spot and would go as low as possible.

Will the shock body clear the frame when flexing?

I like the idea of having storage under the spare tire. Kinda puts the weight higher up but it’ll probably be worth the trade off of actually having legit storage.

if you end up going this route. I’d say angle the front of the tire down (if you have room), so the back of the tire is angled up. Keeps the COG low and helps a ton with departure angle.

Alright we have problems.I had the bedsides on, read bumper mocked up, and I did some measuring. The bed is way the fuck off, basically impossible for me to mount it straight. Which is problematic.

So I guess we’re going no bed. Which is problematic. Because this tube work I’ve done looks like shit.

Which means I’ve wasted a fuckin lot of tube in the last few days, have a shitty liking back half, and have no idea where to go with this now.
Man that sucks. Walk away for a few days. Sometimes it helps to come back with a fresh look at it. Don't box your self into a corner. Weigh all the options before you start cutting.

I don't understand - what is the issue with mounting the bedsides?
