sounds like most of you are AAA fanbois. Here, this is what a battery looks like, and its easy to change! You don't have to turn the car into Carmax for $1000 and buy a new car...

No no, you have to trade in your car for a huge loss at Carmax. That was the rest of us shleps that work there can clean and fix it up for cheap and flip it for profit

Doesn’t this guy have a lift at home. I mean come on man. The rest of us peasants have to whip out a jack and jack stands from harbor freight hoping that we aren’t the reason for the next recall.
Sucks to suck! :flipoff:
Its ok bud. You have many skills so we cant rag on you for oil change shit.
I don't mind the ragging. Some people change their own oil because they think it's manly and it's likely one of the only things they know how to do. I find it to be a complete waste of my time. I'd rather spend my time working, hanging out with the family or drinking beer.

The three downsides to doing your own oil change,

Used oil disposal

Time better spent elsewhere

Getting on your hands and knees, then rolling onto your back is not adding to your man card

I can get Mobil 1 at Walmart for the same price or less than a 5qt container of conventional most places. Plus I know if I put my hands on it my shit won’t get cross threaded or forget to put oil in if it's taken to a oil change monkey type lube shop.

My lady’s Scion Xb on the other hand, is a bitch to get under. Partly because it has no solid cross members near the perimeter of the vehicle. I have to use her stock scissor jack on the body pinch weld just to lift it high enough to slide the 3 ton under it just to “start” the oil change process. I hate dealing with oil changes on cars, but I have no excuse to not do then on the T4R.

Used oil disposal is easy, drop it off at AutoZone. We have a ewaste/hazard drop that I use. Drive over, they pluck it from the bed of the truck, drive off.

Time? It takes all of 20 mins to do an oil change and I can drink beer or do other things while it's draining.

Manly? I could give a fuck. Good vehicle maintenance keeps the vehicles running longer and it gives me a chance to look for other issues while I'm under the vehicles.

I love how there’s a huge justification on why or why not your own oil changes.
When asked why I do my own oil changes ? I look down at my cock then at my hands then bring them up about chest high thumbs pointing up and say. “Because god gave me a dick and balls and these two opposable thumbs so I could rule the world and change my own oil “

Maybe up there in ur ivory tower... down here in the trenches the hard choices have to be made, Atlas 2 or Atlas 4, Reid Knuckles and Cs or Crane!!!
Atlas 4 speed for sure! Having a crawl speed and a cruise speed is definitely the shit.
I've heard nothing but good things about both Reid and Crane. Those Crane Magnum knuckles are pretty sweet looking. Accepts RCV big bell CV's
