Depending on your transmission and transfer case gearing you could be over 12:1 first gear effective ratio in 4 LO with 5.29 gears, 35s would be the saving grace

With my 5-pseed (3.830 first gear) and 2.566 transfer case reduction I'm at 9.35:1 first gear ratio in 4 LO, which takes.me about 12" on flat ground before it's topped out lol and that's with 4.3 gears and 31.6" tires.

I plan to go to 4.88s and 33s

I just found out I had most of my power tools and hand tools stolen out of the garage last night along with a few other items. Over $1k worth of stuff for sure. I hate thieves
It happens often here. Got lock your shit up.
Almost had my truck taken.
Had a spare key locked in a job box they stole the job box got the job box open somehow and tried to come back and steal my car in the next couple days.
Almost caught him with my baseball bat in my underwear but he was a fast bean

They took my lady’s car registration out of her car so we’re a little paranoid about getting a new key cut with the vin, but not sure if that’s doable since I’m pretty sure a dealership would want proof of ownership. Having the registration in hand I’d guess they still need ID that matches. Unless they make a fake one.

$1000 to get the taco redone so they couldn't steel it.
They had a master key

Wow, that really sucks. I'm sorry to hear that. Happened to me more than once, sadly.

The dealerships that I've talked to about cutting keys from vins need both the registration and the vehicle present in addition to owner with ID that matches the registration.

Sorry for your loss, I hope the bullshit ends with that

They don’t have a key…yet, thankfully

I was worried about a fake id with the original registration being an issue, but I sure hope that’s how they all work with the vehicle needing to be present.

Fuck dude that sucks. I literally have dreams (nightmares) about this shit happening. Now that I actually own some nice tools after years of collecting, I would hate to start over at this point.
And if they only took $1k worth it’s probably not worth getting homeowners insurance involved.

Cops will say it's less than $900 so they can let the thief walk. Less paper work involved, and less chance of getting shot at by a criminal.

No (renter’s) insurance unfortunately but at least they didn’t take the welder. It’s going to suck replacing all my ratchets, sockets and power tools. After taking a closer look at current prices for tools, I’m probably closer to $2k. I’ll be shopping for some 3/8” socket sets first since I can’t do shit without those, and then for the power tools it’s time to decide if I want to stick with Makita or change brands since it’s a clean slate. My batteries, charger, impact sockets, everything is gone

I recently picked up a 3/8 drive truck socket set for the rig that I'm very happy with

TEKTON 3/8 Inch Drive 6-Point Socket and Ratchet Set, 43-Piece (6-24 mm) | SKT15201 https://a.co/d/9xaTBxI

Not a full set but the range was good for a boxed set and I prefer 6-pt for most things

Also, Icon tools at Harbor Freight look decent. You can get 10% off first purchase with a HF credit card... not my first stop for tools, but

My hand tools were mostly Craftsman (some USA and some Chinesium) so the quality was somewhat budget but not bottom of the barrel. I’m not opposed to Icon or Tekton, I just don’t want Pittsburgh for rachets. I also prefer 6 point and stay away from 12pt at all costs. I’ve got some shopping to do and will start with the hand tools for sure.

I’d like a 3/8” set with a big assortment of deep and short sockets, and a reasonable sized 1/4” drive set would have at least 10 sizes of each since I don’t use 1/4” too often but when you need one, you need one.
