SxS have come a long way since 2014. But everyone still looks stupid in them

They do look stupid compared to a built truck. Fun to ride in but I think I'd get bored pretty quick. Maybe a 4 seater when I have a family but still I rather roll in some beater 4runner, Bronco, or jeep that I throw on a trailer

Well fuck ... replaced the battery in the Tacoma a week ago and this morning as I was trying to get kids to school it wouldn't start.

I think the alternator is on its way out.
Voltage is constant but low at the battery yet the volt meter on the sPod display is all over the place.

I've had new batteries that weren't really charged when I bought them. Throw it on the charger and see if it holds.

One of my 4runners died. Battery was 5yrs old so i bought an optima yellow. Noticed my usb cigarette lighter voltage meter bouncing around. Figured shit battery is new, must be voltage reg in alternator so bought a new alternator. After swapping that still the same. Grabbed a battery from taco and thing ran perfect. Swapped optima for a boring leadacid and haven't had problems since. Wtf all that means I dont know but good luck.

Those optima yellow tops are fucking trash. I had 3 in a little over 4 years. First two I got replaced under warranty, third one I finally just replaced the piece of shit with a Northstar AGM. Runner still mostly sits for various reasons, but I've only had to throw a charge at it like twice in a year. Now I just keep it topped off with a solar trickle charger while it's sitting.

I would say I experienced the same with optima. Only 1 way to fix it...

Maybe battery contacts are dirty. I have to wire brush mine and reapply grease every year or so.
Yeah my optima battery was crap too. Any other agm is better than those batteries.

I’ve had an optima yellow top for 3 or 4 years now, no issues apart from some recent blue stuff appearing. Although I won’t buy another

I’ve heard good things about Odyssey

Vato zone boring acid for the win.
Affordable comparison to others and always runs for about 4-5yrs no issues.
