Anyone that lives in the San Diego and/or North County of San Diego know anything about "The Truck Shop"??? Do they do really good reliable work?

They seem to get suggested a lot from what I've seen. Can't comment as to the actual work though.
Same... A couple people I still talk to from time to time on... that other site... recommended them as well.

Anyways, an EXTREMELY long story short, while I was finishing up on that EGR issue, which is done btw, I still had other things that I wanted to check out.

I found out that I have a blown head gasket and #3 cyl is spewing coolant.

#1 and #2 cyl compression is absolutely "beautiful" and where the psi should be. #4 cyl, the spark plug, while backing it out, was obviously "cross threaded" and it literally got to the point of just STUCK!!!

So, needing to get either a new and/or used head.

I don't want some half-assed fix of HeliCoil or any of that nonsense. Found out a factory head is about $1400, which I am very leaning on that direction. Trying to stay away from a used/rebuilt head. If anything, I'll get a used head and just store it for backup purpose? I don't know? Right now, just concentrating on getting my baby girl back on the road.

Other than that, as far as I know, the engine is running very well. I just hope I caught the blown head gasket issue in time and not damage any internals because of the water in the cyl???

I don't know how long it has been blown? There was never any real indicator of "smoke" or anything out of the tail pipe? Just a small loss of water over time, which I was assuming to be the EGR due to the "insufficient flow" DTC I was getting??? Hence, the reason I replaced my EGR.

Thanks Danny.

He has a 3rz
Sorry for the late reply guys.

Yeah, it's a 3RZ-FE 8-Port non-distributor

I'm very close to taking my truck to "The Truck Shop" near where I live in San Diego. Supposedly they do good work? I just need to take the time off from work and schedule a tow truck.
