Center carriage bearing then maybe? I think those tend to clunk before whine, but could be a possibility. Sucks if it's your diff though.

its the diff lol; confirmed it on the lift today.
So going to get that redoing and new wheel bearings too just to play it safe.

At least the wheel bearings on the Tacoma are easier than the 4runner. I got that stupid inside drum e brake I have to fucking deal with if I pull my axles all the way out.

I didn’t know it had the drums in the back until a few weeks ago when I swapped out the wife’s rear brakes lol

Dude it took me like a week of frustration to get the fucking spring clip back on the e brake drum when I swapped axle housings. I should have just swapped my bearings at that point.

lol I accidentally popped the spring too.
After an hour of trying i finally got it lined up and put back into place
