What.... I'm retarded when it come to 4x4.... Should I just buy an ARB? I know I need some kinda locker

Speaking of which your site is flooding me with locker ads lol @4runner DOA

Then the ads are doing what they're supposed to be doing. Buy all the lockers!

If you can figure out what needs to be done to make the elocker 3rd fit, you should go that route since you already have it.

In going to look into it, trying not to over excite myself with all the upgrade possiblilities. Gotta get some basics done first and some slider because we all know I'm going to do something dumb fast

have you ever seen anyone add an extra body mount under the headlight area to stop the front end of the wheel wells from falling apart? I've plated the sheet metal under the headlight and added a gusset. I'm trying to think of any long term issues that might pop up, other than the sheet metal directly around the body mount failing.
I saw an LT build in the LT section years ago where a whole new upper/lower radiator support assembly was made using 1x1 square. The lower section was tied into the body mounts, and the rest was built off of that. I don't foresee any long term problems, and may be a viable option in the future to address our problems. What would be bitching is to tie in an entire new inner fender into a fabbed radiator support. I wonder if one would be available from a body shop.

On a side note, my inner fender got to a point that is was touching the front UCA at the mount side, but not any more after installing my brace. I also noticed increased stability. I was also able to realign the inner core during the process of installing the brace. It's 2 pieces, one on each side made out of 3/16th. Probably the most solid thing I have on my junk right now..

My last build has an Aero upper, excellent quality and customer service. It's a stainless steel .223 Wylde barrel with a full length hand guard. I wanted to get their lower as well, but finding a FFL for a transfer was to much trouble for me at the time. So I ended up using an Anderson Lower that I had laying around.

I intended this build to be a "truck gun". Something robust that can stand all the abuses of bouncing around and not having to worry about it being a fragile little snowflake. I also converted it to featureless so I wont get hassled carrying it around.

I'm also considering a Aero Precision Slide for a pistol build that I'll be doing soon.

In my news feed I read something about Toyota making their trucks modular for this next design phase coming up. So Tundra, Tacoma, 4runner, sequoia, and LC will probably be shared. Really curious how a tundra and taco are a shared platform. Stick on some extensions for a Tundra? Kinda cool when these models get older, a tundra engine in a tacoma won't be hard to do.

My guess is it will be similar to the 1st gen Tundras/Tacomas. Same suspension, diffs, LCA's, lug patterns, V6 model engine option, brakes, etc.

Yaaaa, I'm good for now. Besides dont need a front locker, not trying to go full rock crawler
It’s not just for crawling it’s also for self recovery. You really going to trust your friend’s hoopties to pull you out?

Btw what are you going to do with your current wagon of shame? :p

Hahaha I'm going to be the one pulling out the hoopties, especially Kyle's brokerunner
Was going to give my current taco to my younger brother but my parents don't really want him to have a vehicle yet so sell it after I get some help swapping parts the new beater taco is deemed reliable

All the more reason to have both lockers. First gens are light

Can only go good or bad. Curious about suspension and driveline. The driveline of a tundra is a lot larger than a tacoma. Interested in looking under the truck to see what they do.

Oh definitely need one in the rear, wonder how much wait this one has since it's a 4 door
I edited above, both lockers.

And the difference between an access cab and a DCSB in second gens is only 200lbs. Doubt it’s more in a first gen
