Yeah I spoke to theesotericone before purchasing them about his opinions/thoughts and he had similar issues with their boot clamps. I put some smooth worm gear clamps on the outer portion of the outer boots and had some level of success. I'm interested in knowing what he did.

Duly noted on LT. Makes sense though.

Perhaps I'm just a complete unique case (I'm very good at breaking things) and probably why I should be doing some sort of testing as an engineer. After ripping so many boots I wondered why SAS weren't common. Know I see why most people don't want to cut all their IFS off their vehicle as much as I do. Started pricing out a swap and was like "oh this is getting expensive".

The breaking of a CV and differential was a major point to swapping to RCVs. I'd rather spend a lot more money on higher end parts and then not be working on my rig. I don't feel any joy working on vehicles at this point, the fun part is being off-road. I imagine with RCVs and their greater working angles it is less likely to break the front differential as well given there should be less bind on the whole system.

Their "lifetime warranty" is a bit rubbish as well given that it won't transfer to the new owner diminishing their re-sale value quite a bit. I know I've mentioned swapping vehicles before to a SFA (80 series / S1 Discovery) and a lot of it depends on RCVs response in what I'm asking them.

Mmmm.... tacos.

I just used a better pinch style clamp after the stock clamps failed. I took the CV's out. Cleaned the living shit out of the inside of the stock boot and the groove on the cup the clamp nests in. Once I was satisfied there was no grease to help them slip off I clamped them with Nicecnc crimp clamps. If you see rubber squeezing out from the slots in the clamp you've got them tight enough. It's been 18 months and a lot of very hard trail miles and nothing has slipped or ripped. But just sell @AssBurns those RCV's so I don't have to wait for him to swap broken CV's anymore. lol

I’ve hunted as an adolescent for the 4 years I lived in Texas so I learned gun safety fairly young and been shooting for many years but hunting in Ca hasn’t appealed to me much because I got into surfing, Skating, snowboarding, saltwater fishing, Scuba diving and riding dirt bikes/ Offroad trucks from high school onward so my hobby interests were pretty well fulfilled. Not to mention in general hunting just isn’t as good in SoCal as it is a lot of other places around the country.

Turkey would be a new one for me. My old lady would freak the fuck out if I brought home a dead fully feathered Turkey
