FUCK the one in Huntington
Yeah, the one in HB.

Btw, :wavehi:

The main thing is to see where my "water leak" is coming from? The guy I was talking to today also thinks it is a possible head gasket issue. Either case, at least the valve seats will get redone as well along with a few other things while the head is off... assuming it is determined to be a head gasket?

Plus, my door tumblers may or may not be recoverable? That has been something I've been wanting to get done as well for quite some time now.

I'll tell you more the next time I see you.

So, the shop called me and my exhaust valves are bad. He went into a bit more detail, but I can't remember specifically?

Either case, the head is going to come OFF anyways and get redone/checked over. The timing chain is gonna get replaced along with a few other things. Basically the upper half of the engine is gonna get redone.

I will be discussing more and go over once again on things that are going to be done but the main thing for sure is the head and valves getting redone.

SHOULD I go ahead and have them replace the timing chain??? The truck has about 190k on it. I know timing chains are much more reliable, but I also know chains "stretch" under load and over time. I would be saving a few hundred by NOT changing the chain. Your guys humble opinion would be greatly appreciated.

I'll keep you guys updated.

If you do the chain also do the chain guide and tensioner. Since you are crying you might as well get it all done at once. It’s going to run great after all this work.

Chains can stretch and get sloppy, they can also snap but it's not as likely as a belt. Like @Dukestaco said make sure the guides are also replaced because the chain can wear into them. If it's torn apart you might as well get it done.

I replaced everything on mine when I pulled my head, timing chain, guides, water pump, timing tensioner.
