Curious what the treatment is for this besides a ventilator. What are they doing to keep things from getting worse?
It all starts with supportive care, supplemental oxygen is a start. If there’s an infiltrate in the lungs dexamethasone has shown some benefit along with remdesivir and convalescent plasma. Monoclonal antibodies are the newest thing approved on the drug front.

otherwise Tylenol for fever, various pain meds, IV fluids. There’s tons of options for oxygenating before you shove a tube down their throat and yes proning can help if the patient can tolerate it

Way to take it to 11 without all the steps/drugs in between
fucktons of steroids, convalescent plasma, remdesivir. Mortality is like 13pct with the vent at her hospital. Other facilities are 70+pct mortality with the vent.

It’s pretty low. Beginning of the pandemic it seemed that everyone that needed high FiO2 ended up tubed. Now we have people on bipaps for weeks while hoping their bodies can fight it off

that's good. hopefully black friday doesn't have a new meaning this year...gonna be a black Christmas and New Year from all the new turkey day cases alone. Add in the demigod birthday season in December...gas on the fire.

throat singing is rad

I just found garage band on my phone so I’ll start sampling shit.
maybe start a conversation with my neighbor and sample him saying dumb crap and just play it on the speaker during his party.
