Well, just woke up to the police knocking on my door. Turns out those bastards that stole my wife’s purse showed up at our house and stole my tundra. Neighbor saw a car circling around and watched it happen.
I guess the neighbor ran up to our door but didn’t knock loud enough to wake us up.
Luckily it’s got full coverage and no garage remote was in there. Also luckily we got the keys to the Lexus rekeyed yesterday instead of waiting a couple days.

Jesus Christ.

@AssBurns got his truck back. LoJack ftw. Hope they caught the PoS.

That's good.

I was going to say be careful they don't go by ur place, yesterday, but was super busy. Now u just have to hope they didn't get enough info from ur wife's purse for identity theft.

Wtf. That’s some crazy shit.
Yeah I was definitely not looking forward to dealing with insurance.
That’s asking for it. Glad they got caught being greedy! So they only had the Lexus key and decided since it no longer worked becuase it was re-keyed, they’d steal the Tundra?
They had both keys. They probably circled around pressing the button to the lexus to see if it would work. My guess is they realized the key didn't work so they went straight to the tundra.
Unfortunately they didn't get caught yet. We reached out to the senior community they parked the truck at to see if they can get us some identifying information. They need to have the police present to release the footage and any information though.

Hopefully not. All the cards were turned off and it was just an ID in there that had identifying info.
Glad they found it.
Me too! Saves me a lot of time and effort.

They stole the vehicle around 12:30am and the police found it around 3:00am. Thanks to LowJack that I didn't even know I had!

My wife talked to the neighbor today. He said the car was definitely circling the neighborhood multiple times even after the truck was stolen. I'm getting new locks and keys for the house now. Gonna head home early to get them installed.

Shitty part is I just bought new flood light/cameras for the house over the weekend but just haven't had them installed due to not having electrical where I want to put them. Just waiting for my electrician friend to find time to do the install.

I'd put the cameras up even if they aren't connected. At least one in an obvious spot so it's clearly visible. Should be enough to deter another attempt on your truck at least.

Not the worst idea. Might do that when I go home today

If someone really wants ur shit its not going to stop them. My buddies father has flood lights and cameras, "they" still came on his property stole a generator plus some misc other shit, he had great HD video (45mins) for the police of the thefts looking through his shit outside his house, plus the flood lights helped them while they rummaged through his shit. The fucked up part was he was home the whole time and never realized they where there... sure u can get a system that connects to ur phone to give u warnings when the lights or some type of sensor is tripped.

Had a crew stealing cars with a tow truck in my area a while back (probobly still doing said)

Of course if they really want it they'll get it. My cameras alert me.
